The rocky defile guarding the entrance to the ancient fortress of Dunadd, north of Lochgilphead in Argyll. Occupied from about 500 to about 900, this was once one of the most important places in what has since become Scotland. After the capture of Yugoslavia in April of 1941, the #medieval#Smederevo#Fortress was designated as the storehouse for the captured equipment, ammunition, weapons and petrol of the Royal Yugoslav Army, which was to be used in the attack on the USSR. 🔽
