I understand the reason to just use vscode for development, but I would be happier for a proper IDE like RStudio for this purpose.

Wow! I'm absolutely in love with the learning environment of / and and . What an incredible combo.

I wish I had a similar environment to learn or in.

For those who are unfamiliar, Rustlings is an interactive learn-by-fixing program you run in your terminal. It correlates directly with Rust's official guide (The Book). They even link together and to the docs. So cool!

Python's concise clarity is astounding--especially for math.

The only other language that touches it would probably be R, which is arguably more expressive in certain circumstances.

adamjcook,

@raiderrobert I would personally add in there as well.

「 With the introduction of Julia 1.9, native code caching is now available, resulting in a significant improvement in TTFX latency and paving the way for future enhancements across the ecosystem. Package authors can now utilize precompile statements or workloads with PrecompileTools to cache important routines in advance. Users can also create custom local "Startup" packages that load dependencies and precompile workloads tailored to their daily work」

Absolutely 0 scientific use of it, but I still find it extremely pleasant to see:
a silly N body system of self-gravitating masses, solved with a dumb N^2 gravity solver.

(https://github.com/abelsiqueira/jill) is a tool for installing and updating that I created in 2017. Originally it was made to download the latest Julia and link it in my /usr/local/bin. Now, it allows installing any Julia version, including release candidates (-rc versions). One simple usage would be:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/abelsiqueira/jill/main/jill.sh > jill.sh
sudo bash jill.sh

Although is not officially adopted, it still has many users (me included), so I happily dedicate some time to maintain it. Our latest improvement was creating an automated workflow to check for new Julia versions, which is why the current Jill version can already install Julia 1.9.0.

Thanks to all users of .

Episode 3 of @JuliaLanguage Journey is out. It is a short video about Julia types. Beginners will find it informative and intermediate users might like just to see how the type tree below is made.

I'm Leif ("life") and I do research into clouds an their effect on Earth's weather and climate using fluid dynamics simulations and machine learning.

I'm particularly interested in making better predictions about our planet's future weather and climate. Love all things science, technology and jazzy 🎶 🎵 🌍 🌎 🌏 🛰️ 💻
