I think I might be doing the Byte Jam tonight - unless someone who hasn't done it recently would like that seat.
I've had a ridiculous idea, which might or might not work; the kind that I know I'll be giggling along with as I code because it's so silly.
8pm UK time. Come enjoy four folks making art (or nonsense) with code 🙂

Very new to Mastodon and grateful to @toplap for adding me to the community. Not sure how it works but glad to be amongst such inspiring folk.
About me: I'm based on Dartmoor in SW UK. I spent my 20s/30s as a jobbing musician and teacher in London but retrained as a developer about 6 years ago. A chance installation of @tidalcycles 6 months later led to some of the most pleasurable music making I'd ever done and set me off on a new path, studying algorithmic music.
I'm now 2 years into a PhD at University of Plymouth studying language design, esoteric languages and live coding.
My first project is just about coming to fruition. Zen is a JS / browser based live coding system primed for pattern interference. https://zen.cephasteom.co.uk/. There's a tutorial and some docs, but more resources and open sourcing on the way.
On here to keep up to date with other people's work and projects - for research and for inspiration. Would welcome links to your work and others you admire.
In 2023 I grew my humble programming channel to over 1k users, became part of the #YouTube Partner Program and got monetized 🎉
Now it's 2024, and maybe you're thinking that you might want to start a YouTube channel with #programming videos too 🤔
In today's video I share my complete recording and editing process for #livecoding videos, integrating everything that I have learned through trial and error over the past year, so that you don't have to start from scratch! 🚀
Less than an hour till Monday Night Bytes collective goes live on https://live.eulerroom.com/. It's live now, so come and hang out with us and enjoy loads of really diverse #livecoding practices from around the world!
A most excellent pre-Christmas ByteJam. I wasn't sure I could pull enough of this together to make it.. erm.. fly. But I think it got there. Just don't look too closely at the tree sort order 😄
Lovely effects from all, and a no-snow barred jolly chiptune mix. Go check out the on-demand when it's available! #TIC80#demoscene#livecoding
A very enjoyable and certainly unique session - though hopefully the event will happen again.
This video is me on shader visuals and @vegemitepumpkin on sound.
Previously, a jam session with six, including three or four on music w/ @coldclimate #livecoding#creativecode
#newcastle#gateshead creative code folks, there a jam session/ #livecoding / #algorave thing happening tonight at Star and Shadow from 7pm!
Everybody welcome, participation voluntary, come see and learn (and dance?)
As part of the LiveCoding as Systems Exploration session, we'll present jarotsim: a playground for the discovery, exploration and livecoding of Turing machines.
Our Creative Code Club has a provisional event for next weekend...
It'll be livecoding, music and visuals, from members of the group - some with lots of experience, some fairly fresh.
Spectators welcome!
👉 Evening of Saturday 16th Dec @ Star and Shadow Cinema, Newcastle.
Details to be confirmed. Give me a shout if you'd like a ping when times are firmed up 🙂
