A fun @FieldFX#MondayNightBytes jam this evening. Nice to welcome a new player!
3D boxes are my new obsession, and I thought I'd have a go with FFT this time round, which I haven't done for a while.
Here's the fix-and-polished version. I think there are some nice things to be had by pushing this a little further. #livecoding#demoscene#creativeCoding#TIC80
Premier stream de #livecoding R&D en journée effectué, c'était top 😁. On enchaîne ce soir avec la suite de la bidouille d'écran de console, on se retrouve à partir de 21h30 sur Twitch !
Looking for live coders! —musicians and visualists— for a night of live code performances in an immersive projection environment.
Endemics Collective is hosting PLANET TKARONTO in Toronto, Canada on June 8, a satellite event for the International Conference on Live Coding 2024.
The call for performers with more info is at: https://bit.ly/planet-tkaronto .
Live coding is inclusive and accessible to all. We are looking for performers who challenge conventional forms and techniques, disrupting traditional aesthetics and values, and who can engage with the audience directly in the art-or-music-making process, breaking down the barriers between artists and audiences. Performers from underrepresented groups or backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
I just discovered one can follow our channel from Mastodon: @in_conversations_collections I find it cool that ActivityPub services can interact with each other :)
I hope we get back to recording at the end of this month after my first solo code+art exhibition ^_^
#introduction
Hi ALL!
My interest is focused on the use of pure sound. I mainly use sine oscillators for #livecoding in #supercollider both for sound and visuals. All this results in a lot of #sinewaves and a #minimal aesthetic.
Thanks to everyone for a great 20th Birthday Party!!!
Stats
~ 130 creative coders
~ 32 hours of live coding
10 local groups
17 countries: France, India, Greece, Chile, Mexico, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Finland, Columbia, UK, Perú, Spain, USA, Brazil, Solvenia, Italy (apologies if any are missing!)
There are many people to thank. On the admin and infrastructure side: @munshkr@sfradkin@highharmonics@cleary@yaxu. A lot of work particularly by @munshkr to get a new streaming host set up with improvements and new features. (It really paid off - the stream stability was so nice.) Anything missed? Apologies!

I was part of the admin team and was an organizer for TOPLAP20 this past weekend. I'm inspired to share some of my initial thoughts - also I hope to write more once the archives are out.
I'm in awe of this format of marathon streaming events. So many amazing performances - and just the sheer range and diversity of what live coding is and how people embrace and explore innovation and creativity. Wow. Wow.
Local Group presentations - this was a huge success - huge! It shows how live coding flourishes when practiced together.
"Show your screens" is alive and well, and this mantra is morphing into something much larger -> show your whole performance, show yourself, show your community. People being vulnerable, embracing error.
It was also a lot of work - more than I realized it would be. But the payoffs are huge, really big.
I come away with a real sense of connection - to people, to groups, and to live coding itself. I feel less alone. Being an organizer makes me engage more deeply with people, the processes, and the artifacts we leave behind. Quite unexpectedly it is changing my thoughts and plans for my own live coding practice -- and that is a wonderful thing!
It would be awesome to do global live streaming events more often - but it would take more people to step up and help. So think about it. Think about how contributing just might change you.
thoughts, responses, suggestions, complaints -- all welcome. Just hit reply!
Looking forward to joining @creativecodeclub_ncl for @toplap's #toplap20 livecoding stream.

I've been doing some major refactoring work on Mantratronic's brilliant VJ-80 software - live VJ visuals with FFT response, running on #TIC80 - so I hope to be juicing that to the fullest while my fellows drop dope music.
Fri 6 pm UTC - Open Meetup
The event kicks off with informal chat about TOPLAP - Then and Now with Alex McClean, Julian Rohrhuber, Sarah Groff-Palermo, Iannis Zannos, Alexandra Cárdenas, Shelly Knots + you! Everyone welcome.
