In 1979, Ohio (US) had 4 nesting pairs of bald eagles. Today there are 800 pairs. Banning DDT and federal protection through the Endangered Species Act worked.
One of the three nests we saw today. This pair, known to locals as Jack and Diane, are feeding a pair of eaglets in Magee Marsh, near Lake Erie.
On the final day of #MarshMadness I spent the day at Camp Runamuck, where the frogs were croaking, the sun was shining, and the swamp lanterns were glowing.
Albufera. Just south of Valencia, Spain, is a significant wetland area call La Albufera (the coastal lagoon). The modern Albufera ecosystem has developed over many centuries hand in hand with the production of rice.
Os invito a agregar aquí fotos de la Albufera de Valencia y así participar en la celebración de animales, pájaros, plantas y paisajes de pantanos y marismas (#MarshMadness).
