TIL that the original IBM PC keyboard had a pencil tray along the top where today's full-size keyboards have the F-Keys. (The F-Keys were at the left of the keyboard, vertical) #retroComputing
Reminds me of my biggest Keyboard mistake of ever giving away a 134+ key keyboard kinda like the [#ModelM#M122 but with not only 24 F- but 12 PF- keys because it had a big DIN connector!
Actually the #ModelF was the one that standardized the layout, the #ModelM was designed to be a cheaper-to-produce successor product by using buckling springs on rubberdomes instead of leaf springs.
Needless to say #IBM invested a lot money and personnel hours into the original design...
whats a good alternative to the keychron k8 pro?
aka a mechanical keyboard with (preferrably hot swappable) mechanical switches that is wireless and preferrably programmable with something like via
i wanna map dvorak and/or colemak on it and see how ill like it.
i actually only need the barebones kit - i have a set of keycaps lying around
