Torque is the force that ends up being used for movement (acceleration, etc.), while horsepower is indicative of how fast the vehicle can run. When something has a lot of torque but not much horsepower, it can pull hard but can't go very fast. :blobfox3c:

If anyone’s wondering how to set up communication between a #motorcycle rider with a helmet unit (Cardo, etc.) and someone driving a car, it looks like one common path is getting a pair of portable radio units (“walkie-talkies”) and pairing the helmet unit with the one carried by the rider. :blobfoxgoogly:
When brain is tired, one of the first things to go offline is the ability to judge one's capacity to perform the task at hand.
I have an effective hack for myself that hasn't failed me in years of solo all-night driving/ #motorcycle riding: if I go over a speed bump without slowing down gradually, it's time to stop at next fuel station or cafe and take a 20 minute nap. No ifs, no buts. I've taken those 20 minute naps merely 15 minutes away from home (at the end of 18hr rides), no regrets.
I'm off to Brisbane to see the mighty Cirith Ungol, live. I'll be riding the Honda CRF300 Rally down so I can explore a bit while I'm there. Should be awesome!
Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo, north of Ipswich QLD, are awesome.
It was foggy and drizzling just a little, so I had to take it slow. Especially as there are leaves and moss on the road. But there was very little traffic on this very scenic ride.
Near the top of Mount Glorious was a motorcyclist cafe, and it was completely packed. Lots of classic bikes, and chromatic pools of oily rainwater collecting beneath them. 🤣
I enjoyed motorcycling in Brisbane. The fact that it takes 70+ minutes to cross the city is insane, but for the most part, it's far easier to get around than I thought it would be. And compared to Toowoomba, the motorists are much friendlier.
The motorcycling highlight has definitely been Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo. That was a 10/10 ride, even with the wet conditions.
Heading North out of Brisbane, there was this beautiful pine forest near the Big Strawberry. Dirt trails all through it. Not sure whether it's open to the public and I didn't have time to spare exploring it anyway, but it sure looked like a good adventure.
