There’s been a lot of misdirected anger and scapegoating media coverage of tech and Trump for years.
I agree with @nf3xn's assessment, would phrase it differently, though: #Meta (#Facebook) and #X(#Twitter) are complicit in trying to influence the electorate of Western democracies.
They are financed in part by money from authoritarian governments (e.g. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and China.) If you count in ads, Russia as well, of course.
