Know how I know people cheat on #Strava challenges? This challenge has been going for 15 days, yet this person has clocked almost 15,000 miles. What form of human locomotion makes that possible? #Running#Cycling
Why do people do this? Is it intentional? is it a bug?
I got on the scale the other day and weighed, gulp, 256 lbs. Prior to the pandemic I was down to 214 and was on target to get to my goal of 200. There are a lot of good reasons why I lost momentum including Depression, Injury, and my old friend Fear. After my brother’s death, I vowed to get back out there. And I have, but I also haven’t. It’s time to start over—Begin again as they say. This is me beginning again.
Stepped outside my comfort zone and did a long climbing activity. I joined a group ride but it was only 23 riders, spread out all over the mountain, so no drafting or camaraderie.
I'm not a roadie, I don’t do long extended climbs, but it was fine: just shift, pedal, and move up that mountain!
3,448ft climbed over 11 miles in an hour and a quarter.
4+ mile trail run this morning through rocky and rooty woods. Felt pretty good, but also forgot how much more of a workout it is compared to doing the same thing on a mt bike. Going to need another breakfast and maybe a nap pretty soon! #trailrunning
There's a running joke on my weekly #mtb group ride where a friend tells anyone new not to follow me too close, because I'll just keep going faster.
Coworker and I have been trying out Meetups in Zwift and one of the options is rubber banding: keeping everyone together no matter how many watts they're putting out. Someone decides to sprint up a hill and the rest can bike at their own sweet pace and stay nearby, ignorant unless watching w/kg.
You can also make it so your group is the only ones visible. We tried that and he kept getting knocked out of the ride, either it was that feature or the device he was using, more experimentation needed.
Today we tried it with zoom audio, which makes the whole thing better. Kind of surprised it's not part of the app. #zwift#strava#virtualBiking
Wonder why Strava’s version of Zwift's Watopia map is so different? Obvs separate data set than real world, is it that Zwift modified theirs over time and Strava doesn't want to update that often or wants $$ to do it? I opened this morning's ride in Strava’s route maker tool and it looked promising for a bit, the global heatmap is there, but the base map doesn't match up and trying to create a route follows some other line data entirely.
Whatever the reason, it makes Strava look broken. #VirtualBiking#Strava#Zwift
