This fine creature kept me company while I was eating dinner by a stream last week during my trip in the White , . It just hung out on my boot while I enjoyed the sounds of the stream!

You know it was a good hike when you're still feeling it two days later.

This morning I’m bored and pondering seed things, such as bigleafed maple whirlybirds at the park, chive flowers, and garlic scapes from the garden, which I ate. Have also consumed the year’s first garlic cloves, a whole bulb already.

A handful of garlic scapes held above green grass, quite curly.
Pretty purple, round blossoms atop a healthy chive plant at the edge of a garden.

The cherry blossoms have passed and the lilacs are now in bloom! Beautiful sunny run today. So many birds around. This week running, I have seen four great egrets, a green heron, baby goslings with their Canadian parents, Mallard ducklings with mom, cormorants, and so many red winged blackbirds! I am enjoying the last few runs of my taper! Almost go time!

The beauty of double long runs is that by the second half of the second run, my legs are feeling it and I am shuffling along. Slow and steady means lots of quiet time to look around. So many little wonders!

Everything is blooming! Spring running at its finest! It was even warm enough for shorts!

The last altitude run of this training block! Got in 1534m elevation in the middle of my long run today. It was warm and breezy! Beautiful spring weather! So many blooms! Another long run tomorrow and then I taper!

The middle of the road is no place to stop and admire the view so I moved this handsome chap to the safety of the grass verge this morning.
