#today was another slow morning with a gradual shift into chores, for the day and the week ahead.
I did my daily circuit of the yard and gave the vegetable plants their weekly food. I prepared ingredients for my lunches. I started laundry early because this week includes towels and linens.
I think the rest of the day will be mostly reading and a bit more recovery before the week ahead.
I am accidentally rushing through the latest expedition in No Man's Sky due to excitement! I might finish it tonight before bed because the objectives are getting easier to complete. Furthermore, I liked the desolation of Adrift and finding only ruin in place of civilization.
Part of me wishes for this to be a game mode that one could play in No Man's Sky!
The only reason I am taking a break is that my body is complaining and desires food; Otherwise, I'd be playing more.
I still feel run down #today after the three day $dayjob planning event earlier this week. The time was well spent but demanding. Staying up for even part of #TheLastDrivein didn't help but hopefully a day of slack will do the trick.
I have a single errand I would like to complete before noon, picking up my new glasses (huzzah). The rest of the day I hope to take advantage of the abundant sunshine to continue recovering and recharging.
Despite being thoroughly worn out #today, I managed to accomplish most of what I wanted from my $dayjob agenda.
I spent some time out in the yard. I didn't get to spend much time in the green over the last three days, arriving home most nights after bedtime.
I worked on recovering a few other ways. I think I barely had enough in the tank for my run but the movement and more green helped. I had two extended sits that definitely started to regenerate my exhausted equanimity. #zazen
My eye exam is done and I picked out boring frames today. Still nearsighted AF, but this latest prescription will make my vision clearer. It is time to enjoy a long walk home!
After that, I foresee a session of No Man’s Sky because a hotfix for the Xbox version dropped this morning. Can't wait to be alone with those abominations in space!
Happy Fursday friends. It’s a pleasant 65F (18C) 🌞 and looking like a comfortable June day here in the woodlands of MO. #Today after my workout I’m beginning my house painting in the cathouse. All of the catwalks, ladders and rails will be refreshed with a purple coat of paint. The walls were scrubbed and look pretty decent so it’s not too hefty of an endeavor. The tricky part is confining the 3 kitties in the back room during this process. Dommie is such a bully, he might need to be crated.
🤗
It was another humid and sticky day for my early-morning walk, this time 10 degrees warmer. I felt like I was breathing water by the end of it.
When I walked past the pond, to my surprise I could see two large koi in the water. There have never been koi in the pond before. I wonder who put them there?
It's going to be hot and sticky until we get the next thunderstorm this afternoon. I'll be indoors with my AC if you need me.
#today is my last day working in office for this strategic planning session. I am hoping for a shorter day given the solid progress the last two days. Also many colleagues are traveling home today.
These three days have been super helpful for me as a new employee and also very enjoyable. Our offices are gorgeous and I enjoyed working with a wider group of people than I usually do.
I feel zorched. #today was day two of three for an in person strategic planning gathering at $dayjob.
We had a full agenda and got through it all. I have learned a lot, complementing my own investigations and reading of our codebase. I have a clearer understanding of how my own project fits into the bigger picture.
The third day, tomorrow, will thankfully be short. I want to take Friday off to nap for eight hours but am also energized to resume planning for my own project.
I wrote about 1200 words. Now Annie-the-Cat is making it clear that I must stop and pay attention to her instead. My life is ruled by a cat. #Today#Writing
The re-mounting of my big HDD went well due to not needing the command line at all. After doing a bit more reading, a simple repairing of the File System was needed. The difference in my problem-solving skills with sleep vs no sleep is telling. I deleted the previous panic toot.
Everything is fine now because my brain was working better in the morning.
ROFL I do love Ubuntu because of its user-friendly nature; I need to take a chill pill and think before panicking.
I was up early again #today in order to travel into DC for the second day of three working in person on strategic $dayjob planning for the next 12 months of work.
I am hoping to be able to head home a little earlier than last night. I enjoyed the first day but not so much only seeing @kamikat briefly before leaving then just as briefly after returning before turning in.
I enjoyed meeting so many of my new coworkers in person. My social anxiety was present but manageable. I did not have time for a full sit this afternoon but was able to sneak in a round of qi gong that was almost as helpful.
The dinner and social outing after was more enjoyable than past similar activities thanks to my new, deeper equanimity.
