Given that on top of everything else his party has done over the last 14 years Sunak has called the election for a day when I won’t be able to poll clerk and thereby done me out of a day’s extra earning, I’ve resumed my previous attempt at learning this tune of @squeezyjohn ’s - I think I’ve more or less got it: #FuckTheTories
Here’s a cracking Jean Blanchard tune I can’t believe I don’t remember before hearing it on Mel’s #MelodeonMonday yesterday so I have to share for #TuneswapTuesday - Boite a Frissons
I heard this and thought “Gallopede” but apparently this called “Knife’s Edge” except that if you search for that you find another tune instead… so I don’t know what I’m sharing this #TuneswapTuesday except that it is early #Blowzabella.
“La Roulante” by Jean Blanchard - with my usual pedantry that it is a simple and easy basic courtesy to call tunes by the name their composer gave them at least while they’re still alive.
It must be #TuneswapTuesday
As I've not really played it since getting my Serafini, I'm considering selling my Hohner Erika in G/C.
It's a Mike Rowbotham special, which he set up for me in 2017, and added a third (lower) voice and an extra four bass/chord buttons to give 12. If I let it go I'll be looking for £1,000. Delivery possible within a reasonable distance of Bedford, UK, or postage within the UK at buyers cost. More details in the next post.
As predicted it was a great concert. Really fun. Just as well I bought tickets in advance, as the concert was sold out. Not a surprise, as they are excellent musicians, as well as local heroes (Ewen & Gary).
I just found this and only had time to listen to the start, I am sharing it here so that I can find it tomorrow - plus I suspect some of you will appreciate an hour plus recording of John Kirkpatrick and Sue Harris playing St Andrews folk club in 1972!
Northern Ireland"s Linen Biennale launched a few weeks ago. There's already been some lovely events with many more to come.
Flax & Linen are a huge part of our history. The skills, crafts, art & stories are all wonderful.

Think you don't know what qualifies as alternative fashion? I'm here to tell you that you do! Every time you notice someone's outfit being unique and different, you have identified alternative fashion. As said in the title, this is a massive category with an infinite amount of subcategories....
Hi #MastoDaoine, anyone have any tips on a good #trad session in and around #Dublin ? Went to the #Cobblestone yest but there's so many tourists even at opening time it was hard to get a spot where we could actually hear the music proper. Maybe there's a better day for it there? We'd a great time all the same but I'd like to show my in laws some proper music sessions. Also would like to know for me! Feel I haven't been at a decent session in ages. Would of course like to avoid temple bar.

Three days climbing below the col de l’Ancrenaz in Aiguille rouge. The view on massif du Mont Blanc from the bivy is stunning. The proximity of the spring « des eaux noires » and the tranquility of this place makes it easy to enjoy a long stay at the bottom of the cliffs.
What makes a look alternative? Just ask yourself: do you see the day to day average person wearing this? No? Does it catch your eye for being different? Yes? Then it is likely alternative fashion! This category is massive.
