🇬🇧 UK: Mr Johnson's comments were hurtful to many bereaved families who were attending the inquiry.

Mr Handley said his wife had gone to hospital for routine treatment, having had a compromised immune system for more than 20 years.

She caught COVID while in hospital, he said, and she died there.

"In a second day of testimony on Thursday, it was put to Mr Johnson by the inquiry he had approached events with a "let it rip" strategy, which he denied."

It's a word that, in theory, has practical use. 'I gave Grandpa his heart pills, which I later found out were rat poison. With hindsight (of what they were), I wouldn't have done that'

But 99% of the time, in common parlance, the mere use of the word hindsight implies gaslighting

'You know I did something inexcusable and wrong, and I know it. But I'll use the word hindsight to imply that any normal person would've done the same in my shoes'
