What will make the spectacular tomorrow is activity. With the blotted out by the moon, we will be treated to a view of the larger solar atmosphere including outbursts from its surface. This image is in but bodes well for immense activity off to one side of the tomorrow.

The other treat is, of course, seeing (stars, etc) during the daytime.

My wife received a lily from my daughter and I wanted to know what it looked like under an ultraviolet light. Bees see in the ultraviolet spectrum and I am looking for ways to attract bees. I have looked at two species of flowers and blossoms and the stigma is reflective in both.

The filaments which are light green under normal light, match the bluish grey of the petals. The anthers which are red under normal light appear black. The stigma which is white under normal light glows with the same pale iridescent green as the tips of the petals.

Bees see in the ultraviolet spectrum, so I was curious what a plum blossom looked like under a UV light. I wish I had better camera for close up photos. Seeing how the flowers light up, gave me a small idea of what bees see.
