Happy 23rd anniversary to Weezer's green album, released today (May 15) in 2001. Man, did I listen to this album a lot, and I still can. Might be my favorite Weezer record but I hate the last song - luckily it's last and I can just turn it off when it comes on. 😂
I remember following along online as they were making it, they were posting updates. Some great unreleased/b-side stuff from this era, too.

2008, après 2 albums méritants passes sous le radar, #weezer revient au top avec l’album rouge (on va pas s’emmerder à trouver des titres, ce qui marche c’est les albums éponymes) et il est tellement bon de A à Z qu’il est difficile de choisir le meilleur titre. J’ai un faible pour celui-ci, très teen punk dans le message, très mélodieux dans la forme. Simple et percutant, irrésistible, c’est comme ça que je les aime.

Alors voilà. Aujourd’hui on arrive à l’album vert de #weezer et je vais me fâcher avec des gens.
Je déteste Island in the sun.
C’est dit.
Pourtant l’album en soi n’est pas mal du tout, il y a même de tres bons morceaux. Mais on a l’impression que Cuomo a tout balancé en vrac, le grunge qui tape avec les bonbons pop degueu. Ça ressemble à rien. On s’écoute quand même Hash pipe et bonne journée 🤘🏻

1996, #Weezer s’essaye au concept album autour de l’opéra de Puccini, madame Butterfly : c’est Pinkerton. Très mal reçu au départ, très mal vendu, l’album est pourtant excellent et a fini par devenir culte dans la communauté des fans. Je dois être fan, car c’est mon préféré.

This week I opted to do something different. When going over to #HarvsIsland, I decided to recreate an #album cover. Here we have Lucky, Raymond, Filbert, & Tiansheng dressed as #Weezer from the cover of their self-titled album, aka the #BlueAlbum.
I really tried to capture the spirit of the outfits and the album cover here. The outfits were harder to capture than getting the room all blue.
Pretty excited to be seeing #Weezer in my neighborhood tonight. The blue album was my balm in college. My CD skipped because i played it all the time. Just like my 20 yo self, i can sing these stupid words (🎶& i love every one, yes i do🎶), have maybe too many beers, & then walk home.
