More Excellent developments on the good work being performed on #NodeBB and interoperability with #WordPress instances endowed with the #ActivityPub plugin:
@tallstorygames posted that into the UK Slack and according to the co-founder it was one of the first patches added to the b2 fork that eventually became WordPress
Everything #tech has an overhyped cycle (usually in the beginning of its introduction to a critical mass but not always).
If you’re reading this on Mastodon then you’ll likely rightly think about #AI#Apple etc.
But also #Mastodon#ActivityPub#WordPress etc also had theirs. Maybe you weren’t around for them. And these (and more) have settled into reasonable realistic expectations. It’s a pattern.
Point? Maybe none. But pointing out overhype maybe is something some don’t bother with.
"Quick, strike a pose! To help celebrate #Pride month, we’re running a photo drive to the #WordPress Photo Directory and offering up some cash prizes as a bonus. The funding for the prizes are proudly powered by Queeromattic, the collection of queers within Automattic."
#WordPress Based on what I’ve seen, Block Themes are not growing and are barely used. This is based on the low and declining install counts for Block Themes from WP.org. Whenever someone says “Block Themes are the future of WordPress”, it makes you feel like you should be focusing resources there. But based on the evidence so far, that’s not true. If the trends remain as they have been for 2 years, how much wasted time will have been spent by WP business to build for a future that will never be?
