The UK Government controls the purse strings for Scotland, where health and social care has always been independent, so the austerity was also inflicted on Scots - despite the fact Lansley's 'party' has been rejected in every Scottish national vote since 1955.
In about a year the burnt out wasteland that is the UK will be inherited by a Labour Party which will have neither the ability nor desire to try to repair the damage the real Tories/UKIP have done. It will try to stick everything back together with gaffer tape, fail miserably, and the Tories/UKIP will win the subsequent general election. That is their plan. Tony Blair is godfather to one of Murdoch's children. Starmer and Anas Sarwar attended Murdoch's annual summer bash in London recently. To get elected in the UK you have to kowtow to Murdoch.
