For all #Italian practitioners of the #BulletJournal (#BuJo) method, I've just added to my digital garden my (hopefully better than the official one) translation of the Italian Bullet Journal Reference Guide.
Per tutti gli utilizzatori italiani del metodo Bullet Journal (BuJo), ho aggiunto al mio giardino digitale la mia (spero migliore di quella esistente) traduzione della Italian Bullet Journal Reference Guide.
Dang. I found the perfect (for me) bullet journal (Zequenz The Color A5 dotted in Emerald), but as I near the time for another volume, my local bookstore, the manufacturer, and even Amazon are sold out.
This is the same scam as publishers changing cover designs or sizes halfway through a series, but now I also have to write the books!
I'm one week in to using One Big Text File #OBTF. It's a different kind of simple to the one-file-per-idea system I've been using (and haven't yet given up).
Personal experiment: Can OBTF be a worthy companion to my paper Bullet Journal? So far that's a firm yes, but one week isn't long enough to know for sure.
Looking forward to observing any friction in what's meant to be a frictionless approach.
I've learned that the easiest way for me to create art is to start by sitting in a chair daily for any length of time with a pencil or pen in hand and actually make art.
The first time I did this, I set a goal of doing so for 100 days. It extended well past that. I later started creating a calendar in my bullet journal where I could draw something small daily -- even if it was just a doodle. Working on getting back into this habit.
@ironicbadger - you mentioned journaling in Self Hosted 115… have you looked at the structure / process called bullet journaling? https://bulletjournal.com is the foundation. It really helps with #ADD / #ADHD. Also, you ever want to nerd out on #FountainPens, hit me up... I’m soooo addicted to them!

I’m late to the party, but I’m going to try #BulletJournaling. If you have, or have had, a bullet journal, what do you wish you’d known at the beginning?
To start out 2024 I will be going back to analog with the #bulletjournal
Despite some parts of it not working for me, looking back on ‘23 it IS what worked best for my brain. Master lists and inbox will likely be #orgmode#notebook#gtd

Started a #bulletjournal back in 2018 and found success with it, but fell off through the COVID pandemic mid 2020.
I tried to fill the need for productivity tracking with online tools, yet it never felt right and I was inconsistent. I’m trying the good old pen and paper one more time, but with a new strategy.
I know I’ll need to iterate a few times before it feels completely right, but if I’m able to remain consistent, I will share details on what has been successful for me
Hi I’m Nika (they/them) and my hobbies are gaming, cooking and baking, knitting and crocheting. I bake my own sourdough bread since 2015. I organise my life with a bullet journal.
I speak German and English.
My posts will be written in English most of the time.
I use a #BulletJournal. For a long time, I just did the “rapid logging” part: capturing to-dos and notes throughout the day.
But lately I’ve found value in writing a sentence or paragraph at the end of each day. It’s not enough to be called long-form #journaling, but it helps me feel grateful and “seen.” Process my feelings and whatnot.
Physical. No prompts right now. I review monthly, and whenever it crosses my mind (not often).
-] Tasks “manager”: tried Obsidian, One Note, Google Keep, Notebook… I can’t seem to find The One that works for me (and syncs with my laptop & phone). Taking suggestions!
-] Something to read and annotate pdfs: I got a Remarkable2 tablet, and then an Onyx Boox Note Air 2, and they’re just too slow and do not easily sync with my laptop and Zotero. For the most important papers I have to say I might prefer paper.. Also taking suggestions for this.
Edit: trying to make the bullet points not disappear in #IceCubes is still hard
for a task manager/todo list, I've abandoned digital and gone to a paper notebook. syncing issues disappeared:)
I found the #BulletJournal system very useful in providing a flexible, minimalist structure to my notebook. See #RyderCaroll's book or YouTube channel for details. be warned though, a lot of people have become quite taken with the name "bullet journal", and use it to describe very complicated scrapbooking hobbies that don't have a lot in common with Carroll's actual method
I'm also using (a very simplified version of) the #bulletJournal as todo list/task manager. I also use the same paper notebook to take notes, so it's all in one place. Easy to synconise, a bit more complicated to search 😅
