I’ve been journaling my daily work using Logseq for the past year or so. It has transformed how I work. It’s a log of the little wins I’ve tackled, notes on what was the route to success, and links to where the solution is, whether that is a Confluence doc, a PR on GitHub.
It is also a “memorium pool”, I no longer have to stress about remembering things. It has a powerful note linking mechanism that is automatic, I can find related notes easily and visualise how they are related to each other.
If something comes up during the day, I can tag it as /TODO and it will add that note on a calendar view so I can quickly glance if I have things I need to take care next week.
Give it a go. Remind yourself you win every day. Remind yourself that things do take time. Remind yourself that what you do today matters.
This post is not sponsored. It’s just me grateful for open-source. Want start your journaling today? Go here: https://logseq.com/
I don’t know whose idea at Apple it was to create a separate app just for journaling, but this could have easily been a feature of Apple Notes. While I love the slick UI and the suggestions, at this point, it feels more like a fancy demo, than a fully functional memory vault. Add search and integrate it with Notes, and you might be able to get me to switch away from Day One.
You can simply create an Apple Shortcut that opens a daily note in iA Writer. Double whammy when you also add your Daily Notes folder from Obsidian to iA Writer and point to it.
(There is a ‘get file’ iA Writer action for when you’re unsure what the path to your note is.)
It may seem simple, but if taking notes during play, the stop and start of it seems distracting, and it's not really viable with many online games.
So I'd guess for those writing about their experiences with games it's probably primarily reflective with few notes from during play depending on the games involved?
I spend too much time reading other peoples' thoughts; I should journal but it feels like talking to myself. I'd do it here but no one here cares about anything I say, so I might as well be talking to myself. Though, if I get something wrong I can trust you dweebs to correct me at least!
I received an updated proof on these weather journal stickers! The originals weren't lined up evenly, and I'm glad the updated one looks so much better!
Sharing a piece from my personal journal. I am not neuro-typical and I need to engage my hands in order to not zone out. I sketch to keep my brain awake whenever I am in a class, listening to a talk or waiting for an appt.
