Major housing/transpo/#climate progress for Colorado.
Thanks to the #Boulder team for helping make happen & being out front on HB1152 (ADUs), SB65 (phones/driving), SB184 (rail funding), SB195 (protections for vulnerable users), & HB1313 (TOCs).
Just 13 short years after inviting #BoulderCouncil candidates over to the Masala Co-op for tea and cakes to discuss repealing occupancy limits that discriminate against unrelated people, and 28 years after Cedar Barstow got busted for living in an intentional community in her own home and was sentenced to community service, which she used to help found the Boulder Housing Coalition.
Interesting and timely bill introduced in the #Colorado Legislature this session:
Candidate Election Deepfake Disclosures
"Concerning the use of a deepfake in a communication related to a candidate for elective office, and, in connection therewith, requiring disclosure, providing for enforcement, and creating a private cause of action for candidates."
#Colorado yesterday eliminated an 18-year-old state law that made it harder for cities and towns to offer broadband Internet service. Local governments no longer are required to hold an election before offering the service.
Very frustrating to see utter indifference from #COLeg when it comes to housing instability for renters contrasted with the popularity of handouts to property owners with hundreds of thousands of dollars in speculative appreciation in their real estate portfolio which they also just happen to live in.
