Entropy equilibrium and time travel in the MCU
(need to know the concept of entropy and homeostasis, and previous MCU principles)

PS I made this up a while ago.

Common misunderstanding about : the two configurations below have exactly the same entropy, and in both cases the entropy is zero (as you know exactly where each dot is, so there is only one possible microstate they can be in).

@billyjoebowers @BlackAzizAnansi There was one clear, shining moment around March 2020 where we [this country, humanity generally] had a tangible, visible opportunity to come together and shift EVERYTHING into a redemption arc. It was right there in our hands.
But instead...we went down the other path. Where wins.

Frau Bluchek @_L1vY_ This is it, this is THE liminal space where things in society and politics are fluid enough to change. This week. Grab it. No more compromises. Take your real stance. 11:14 AM • Mar 20, 2020

There's two kinds of people in this world...

This is prob mostly for tea drinkers, but curious about general habits. How often do you typically boil your kettle in a day?

ottaross,
@ottaross@mastodon.social avatar

@dan613 @skatem of course all three modes are happening at once. It's almost like the universe wants us to have cold tea.

Scientists have found that people are better able to navigate in environments that are topologically similar to the area where they grew up:

If you grew up in a city with a low street network, such as , you'd better not walk around a foreign city without a navigator. Instead, if you grew up in , feel free to go on a hike to melt the One Ring.

Ah, now I see why the xkcd-style, 4-word password never caught on in Germany!

Minor in the scheme of things, but as a person with a particular affinity to Hadrian's Wall, this made me very sad. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-tyne-66952980

It makes me sad to see someone mention there's a lack of coverage of the Gabon coup on Mastodon, and people lining up to be defensive and reply that 'this is a you problem' rather than admit that Mastodon does indeed lack coverage of the Gabon coup, and many other important events outside of USA and UK

@Loukas That does make it a collective responsibility to (a) connect to people that are not in your own bubble, and (b) share info on many topics so that conversations get started. Since there's no algorithm, we have to do it ourselves.

Hello fedinerds, got any recommendations for someone with dyscalculia (I can do theory and concepts, not numbers without analogies first) for understanding (and entropy in nature), , , or any other topics of note? Any good YouTube lectures, podcasts, reads, etc.?
