One of thé cherey Tomato cuttings I put into a 10L sack seems to be growing roots, the other 2 didn't grow well at all.

Also managed to save 2 of the cocktail tomatoes by washing them off Powdery Millow and sprayed heavily with Neem oil.

The lobe cucumber is not doing so well and the fungus keeps coming back.

My balcony looks so sad and depressing.

Better late on an #introduction than never. I’m no good at them.

I don’t post a lot: #Introverted #ADHD wallflower who’s alright at replying, shit at starting a conversation.

Well met.

Robotic Bees Could Support Vertical Farms Today and Astronauts Tomorrow

The buzzy industry of robotic pollinators is setting its sights on indoor farms for urban—and extraterrestrial—environments

In the depths of winter, my herb garden is mostly dormant. So I treated myself to a small hydronics kit with a grow light to grow some soft herbs like basil and coriander 🌿Bonus, more light in my kitchen. Now I wait.

I don't eat or even like Kale but when my plants bolted and grew some flowers, I kept them to save the seeds!

I honestly have no idea if I ever going to use them, but my stuburn mindset forced me to separate them and going to save them! Maybe I find someone who is interested in organic kale and can do a seed exchange with them!

Cucumbers, cucumbers, cucumbers and more cucumbers!

This one is on a 50L soil bag (bought from the shop and just opened the bag and planted the seedling in it.

Already had 4 cucumbers from it and these 2 are ready and many more growing really fast.

I will definitely don't need to buy tomatoes until September or October this year and will have plenty of delicious ones to eat.

Unfortunately, all the were destroyed by the soil gnats and I'm thinking about starting a couple of new ones for the second hydroponic unit. I just love those crunchy ones.

The other 2 pictures are of the small ones growing. Unfortunately, I have to hand pollinate all the time because I'm on the 6th floor of an apartment and only seen one pollinator this year.

The summer rewards of the system are beginning to trickle in for reals. Take the dog out into the back yard for a minute, get rewarded with a bunch of mouth-watering snap pea pods, eaten straight from the plants.

I am really losing my battle!

Can't get rid of the . Killing a bunch one day, they pop up in another plant. It is a never ending battle and running low on .

Don't think I can buy more Neem oil and may end up using cooking oil instead.

Either that or give up the plants attractingcthe bugs. Hard choice.

Upward Farms throws in towel ten years after founding vertical-farming business - It’s starting to look like this once optimistic growth sector is just not going to work - for anyone. It’s just too complex to manage profitably. https://www.just-food.com/news/upward-farms-throws-in-towel-ten-years-after-founding-vertical-farming-business/

My first tomatoes of 2023 are probably going to be from hydroponic!

Lost most of my Tiny Tim tomatoes to soil gnats and have (once again) only 4 plants. W in hydroponics and 2 in self watering planters.

The one in Kratky is doing very well and it's healthy and clean roots are reaching down to where the nutrient rich water is. I may have to find a slightly bigger reservoir as the plant is very thirsty with all the tomatoes growing.

Exciting to see the new season is finally starting to work after a bad start with bugs and silly mistakes.
