@ivory Hey, Any plans to have account muting reworked so it syncs both ways?
As far as I can tell you do respect mutes that I have enabled on my instance/web but mutes that I enable in Ivory is not synced back to my instance. Kind of annoying having to bookmark accounts I want to mute and then open up my home instance in a browser and mute the account that way to be certain the mute works.
Using #Skybridge to see my Bluesky account in #Ivory to boost fed.bird.gy (#Bridgyfed) allowing me to see #Bluesky posts on #Mastodon, and vice versa. If I post something on Mastodon will it appear on Bluesky, and so appear on Mastodon, and so forth, in a mirror of infinite recursion?
@ivory it looks like posting via share sheet is broken. First, I have some problems using tags there (everything just vanishes completely sometimes when trying to use tags) and then my post have not been posted at all and just disappeared. #bug#ivory
@ivory
With #Ivory on an iPad, when I look at the list of followers and followees in my profile, what order are they displayed in? Can I impose an order, or otherwise search the lists?
@qurlyjoe They should be in the order that they followed or you followed. You can search them with the search icon, but it will only filter the list that's currently loaded.
Is there a way to get @ivory to manually fetch or refresh accounts/profiles/toots of people on other servers?
I know I can open their profile in the in-app browser, but it’s such a hassle to have to log in and MFA every single time I want to follow/boost anything, and for some reason a lot of profiles never gets refreshed so I never see their updated profile/content in #Ivory. #Mastodon decentralized infrastructure problems… 🥲
@agnes@IceCubesApp ALSO! One more thing - I'm cleaning up some bookmarks in my browser and I found this Google Doc with a comparison of different apps. I don't know how recent it is but it looks pretty accurate:
@agnes This isn't a problem with Ivory. This is just how Mastodon works. Within a client app (or your own instance website), you can only see what your server is aware of. Hitting the "open link to profile" opens their profile on THEIR server which has all of their data.
A Sphinx (height 4.8 cm) carved from #ivory and with face made of amber. Found in the Grafenbühl burial near Asperg, a rich burial mound from the late Hallstadt period, dating ca. 500 BC. The Sphinx is a product of a #Greek workshop in Italy (Taranto?).
It was used as an applique and attached to a piece of furniture.
Again and again @ivory - in #ivory I see this Problem a lot. A posting with a short video clip. In Ivory I see just a gray area. If I tap it, I get a black (empty) player. Nothing plays.
I tap the share icon and select „open in Mona“ - I see the posting with a preview of that video. If I tap it, it instantly plays.
Don’t tell me it’s the server/instance or something. This works in #Mona and #IceCubes and I could check the older toot! If I need to. Only with ivory i see this problem.
@ivory@kameit00 sure thing. We were there before. I’ll try this one with my product management next time to. „No it’s all as expected. That’s the API. Nothing i could do. What? WhatsApp and others are doing it better? 🤷♂️ not my business“ 🤪 (i think I might have a new job soon 🫣)
@nSonic Not saying there's nothing we can do. But we have more important things to do right now than hack around the system to solve a small problem that very few users happen to encounter. When we have more time, we can address little things like this. But we already have work on our plate to last the next few years and it just keeps growing. 🙂
@ivory I can’t tell if this is related to a recent iOS change or not, but my photo permissions for #ivory appear to no longer allow full access to my photo library?
@ivory yeah it worked from the server using the web interface. I should have the latest release of ivory and iOS. Will double check. This iOS version seems to be giving me some odd issues on my iPhone 13 Pro Max 😩.
@jay Maybe try a few different, smaller videos as a test as well just to see if everything is failing, or specific sizes. When we test videos, we usually set our post to "mentioned people only” so it doesn't go out to anyone else.
@ivory@TWSheppard Thanks for the response. I have it set to filter from “home and lists” in the native web app. The web app & other iOS apps do the proper filtering in my lists, but Ivory does not.
I prefer to use the native filters so that I can continue to try different clients without losing my filters.
