I wouldn't normally turn to British Vogue for a strident defence of Diane Abbott, but...

''none of this parliamentary rhetoric about extremism & MP safety has been mobilised to protect Diane Abbott after the Conservative’s biggest donor said he wanted to shoot her. Quite the opposite; the system has moved to shield Frank Hester, a poor man who made a little mistake & needs to be given grace and compassion'!

A (rightly) angry piece

Much of Diane Abbott's career can and should be seen as a British success story. She was able to go to from a background that was by any standards seriously underprivileged, accepted by the and served as a member of parliament for more than thirty years including a stint on the front bench. It is a matter of shame for that she has experienced not just overt racism and sexism but treatment as well!

So I had a response from the Dept of Health in response to my appeal against their providing a heavily redacted report when I asked them for the cost-effectiveness analysis used to justify banning vaccines for the under 65s.

They are denying my appeal. Their excuse is that I asked for the report and they have provided the report and I didn't specifically ask for it to not be redacted, so I'd have to send a new FOI request.

I shall. I'll also be in touch with the ICO.

More on the tendencies at the Dept. for Education; its becoming clear that in a time of constrained resources & budget challenges, the DfE thinks its money well spent to keep on those it suspects of harbouring critical views of education policy & practice....

That said,, its a change(?) from the usual practices experience by claimants.

Perhaps 1984 & the Trail will be banned in schools because they reveal too much?

I've been on a chat with Apple for at least 10 minutes trying to downgrade my iCloud plan to the free version.

It literally won't let me click the "Done" button for downgrading. Despite having followed all the steps correctly, the option stays grayed out. The person on the chat has no idea what's going on.
