At last! Our #KubeCon talk "Open Policy Agent — Intro and Deep Dive" is now up on YouTube 😃 I can't stand hearing / watching myself talk, but hopefully you won't feel the same aversion. Covering an intro to the project, some updates, a roadmap, and much more. Check it out!
Hot take: #opensource events in the US whole are struggling while they are growing in the EU and it's due to a combination of a generally lower speed of EU companies and thus less impact of interest rate increases and #reinvent taking up all the remaining travel budget for the US.
All the while, #KubeCon EU is turning into the European #reinvent -- the majority of the keynotes long have and it's now the place for business meetings almost back to back.
Bonus #KubeCon hot take: my favorite talk category these days is "company which sponsored none of the actual #opensource work has people presenting other people's work as if it was their own"
Full house talking Open Policy Agent with Xander Grzywinski at #KubeCon yesterday. The long line outside was humbling, and a good reminder that #OPA matters not just to us, but to a huge number of people and companies. Truly happy for these opportunities!
Met with two more Mastodon buddies. Great to see both @Marcus and @ringods at #KubeCon! And I got some awesome Giant Swarm t-shirts for the kids from Marcus ❤️
Good morning from #KubeCon! If you’re here and want to meet, find me in the #OpenPolicyAgent kiosk in the project pavilion. Also, don’t miss my talk on today at 15:25 if you’re curious about #OPA, #Rego, and anything related.
In her opening keynote at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe in Paris, Priyanka Sharma, executive director of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), spoke of AI being in an "irrational exhuberance" phase, meaning that expectations are moving well ahead of delivery.
Seems to be massive disconnect between the #AI hype pushed in the #KubeCon key notes vs. what the audience actually cares about. I don’t think I ever heard this many people complaining about them in the past.
