Anyone else use a Epilator (those not-shaver things that pull the hairs out at the root similar to waxing)

I moooostly like the results (not the pain but it gets better as they grow back thinner) but it seems to make my arms break out/get irritated, and for longer than most people. I try and lotion up more than usual and exfoliate but I still get mild red spots for days after

Speaking of hair removal, for my shaving I've been using this Merkur (34C I think) safety razor for years and it's not likely to quit on me. There was a learning curve, but not a big one. The result is quite good.

The titanium coated blades last me many months each and produce minimal waste with no plastic.

I also tested an open razor, but found I can't trust myself waving that around in my face before morning coffee.

Tired of Gillette Razor blades costing US$3.58 each then try Safety Razor Blades costing only US$0.08 Each

There’s a lot more to traditional wet shaving than just price, but for many, price is the big deciding factor. Safety razor blades work out to being 44x cheaper than Gillette Fusion5 blades (both as bulk buy items).

It’s true that a quality safety razor is ...continues

Just shaved with an old school safety razor for the first time ever, using the very mediocre blades that came with it. Sure, I bled some more than usual due to lack of skills, but oh my is it a better shave! It's like night and day. And much less skin irritation.

Anyone else use an ? How good is this flexible one on the left vs the usual style on the right (I have that one now, it hurts and doesn't work half as quickly as I'd like)

Heard mixed things about using it with wet skin, product images say it hurts less but reviews say it barely works

Kent Tarrant of Labrador started growing his beard four years ago after recovering from non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Then he raised $7,100 to cut it off — all 17 inches of it.

Hmmm least shit way to legs/body hair? Saw some electric razors 'designed' for it on amazon but I'm skeptical. They've usually been terrible.

The "groomer" attachment on my electric razor can take off the top layer but you still gotta use a disposable razor for the remainder.

Waxing is in an awkward place between success and too annoying. The anti-hair-goo feels like magic but the tiny bits of hair are back in like 3 days

How to Shave with a Safety Razor

This is a no frills, no lengthy intro, guide that gets straight into the meat of the topic. Learning anything new though does require a little memory muscle reprogramming. It did take me about two shaves to get into the swing of it, and from there the benefit ...continues
