Zettlr 3.1.0 ohne Catalina

I still hope I will one day manage to implement a notes links graph in my like @elly did in hers.
If you have resources on how to add that in a website, please share.

As I explore network thinking in a lot of aspects of what I create, being able to navigate through my posts in a visual way would add something really cool to my garden

gibt es ein forum für die #Zettelkasten software #zettlr oder wo ich eine frage stellen kann?

#Lemmy oder #matrix wär auch top, will aber nicht #redditMigration oder #discord benutzen und habe im web nichts gefunden... :(

Decided to give another go, though mostly as my online knowledge base (I have a student account). I won't, however, be using it for anything [too] personal or sensitive, due to their security issues.

@dhrystone I have, along with and . I just like exploring different apps and coming back to old ones to see how they've changed. 🙂

alternatives that don't excessively restrict free users

is great for those in the Apple ecosystem who take notes between phone, laptop and tablet a lot. It's pretty full featured for a built in app too.

is a fantastic open source note taking app that supports markdown for those who inexplicably like that

is a zettelkasten based note taking app for those looking to get nerdy and turn their notes into a full on knowledgebase. It also just sits on top of regular old md files so has the advantage of not locking you into the app

is basically open source Obsidian

Powerful Markdown editor has launched its v3.0, featuring a split view, multiple main windows, pinned tabs, a status bar and an integration with LanguageTool. The latest version also enhances the importing/exporting system and brings a new icon.

Tried on Windows. Instantly not a fan. Menus are non standard, preferences window is bizarre, it just has the feel of being written in some odd programming language. Also, "Mother tongue".. really? Uninstalled.

3.0 was released today. I’’m looking forward to trying it as a general markdown editor to supplement , because you can use .md files anywhere in your system, not just in folders designated as vaults. https://github.com/Zettlr/Zettlr/releases/tag/v3.0.0

Okay, so between my two contestants for editor with word processing abilities, I am really baffled at my choices:

  • : really intended for smaller notes, has some Notion-like cross-document linking and database aspects
  • : Handles large documents, but only one file per window. Requires theme editing to change the font
  • : Handles multiple files well, including linkages between them, but is slow as fuck on 27k word files. Gives you a CSS edit box.

Anyone else using for notes or documentation? I've been toying with it personally and tuning up some ideas for my next term starting this week. What plugins have you found useful as an IT professional?

I'm a solo with a fallback . Agent facing documentation in my ITSM is a process (rightfully so) to edit and update, but is slow to search if I can't find it straight away.

Here’s my take on the features of @obsidianmd that are most likely to be future-proof and interoperable with other software in the decades ahead:

  • plaintext (file type) in folders (organization)—universally compatible; readable in any text editor and file manager

  • markdown—this only seems to be growing in popularity—far beyond any other markup language—and again, can be read in any text editor by anyone who knows the syntax, even in the absence of rendering or highlighting. 1/2

dropcase,

@EpiphanicSynchronicity @obsidianmd Also, plaintext plus version control is lovely. I've got a private repo that I use for testing different platforms (like , backups, , , , and others), and it's great to see the evolution over time.

It also makes me less hesitant to do evergreen pruning, knowing that it's all there.

I decided to play with as a possible tool for organizing campaign notes: https://logseq.com/

I then stumbled across a minor holy war between logseq people who proclaim it is a note taking app, and so MUST use bullets for everything, and others who are confused about why a Markdown editor adds bullets to anything.

Short version - it's not a Markdown editor. It uses its own flavor of Markdown, and its purpose built for note taking ... and forces everything to use bullets.

@nukehavoc

Check

https://www.zettlr.com/

It is based on local Markdown files and support wikilinks and tags like Obsidian but it is FLOSS.

alexl, to markdown Italian

The ODF file formats like .odt used by Libreoffice and more are just ZIP files containing a XML file and attachments.

Is there an equivalent for #Markdown containing one or more .md files and media like images? For example .mz extension but it's a just a ZIP.

It would be exported by Markdown editors and imported by online publishing services, for example.
I searched but I can't find anything. Please reshare
