Quand tu loues un électrique a a la journée pour rejoindre l’ (histoire de montrer aux collèges qu’un autre mode est possible ) pour une réunion … et que tu crèves sur la roue arrière, tu te retrouves a changer la chambre a air devant le musée des confluences 😅

The SEP system is critical to adjust Bepi’s trajectory between the various Mercury flybys, slowing the spacecraft down ahead of entry into orbit around this enigmatic innermost planet in December 2025.

En flânant dans un marché ce week-end en , je suis tombé sur une créatrice de hyper sympa. Une fois n'est pas coutume, j'en fais la promotion car je suis tombé sur ce visuel d'un banc de en forme de qui attaque un énorme 4x4 / .

Dixit le porte-parole du tronçonneur d'extrême droite néolibéral, qui entend sabrer toujours plus dans les budgets de l'université et de la recherche en Argentine, sous la tutelle d'un improbable ministère du « capital humain ». L'obscurantisme fascisé au pouvoir, comme sous Trump, Bolsonaro, Orban, etc., fait des ravages. Il serait peut-être urgent de nous mobiliser.

La forme est plus brutale en Argentine, mais au fond, ça revient un peu au même !

    I’m enough to in for 15 years now, with a permanent position since 2016. My job is nothing less than my .

    Still, today, after one week of , I’m NOT eager to go back to work. I know many people also feel the same after holidays, because their job is somehow painful. For the very first time to me, I’m like them.

    I’m still extremely lucky to be in a group with talented young , for whom I want the best and do everything I can.

    @BassinesNon @jknodlseder Cet article aborde un dilemme très intéressant : doit-on rester dans ces secteurs (polluant) en faisant tout pour essayer d'inverser la tendance (au risque de caution de leur green-washing) ou doit-on les quitter / boycotter pour ne pas prendre part à ces écocides (au risque que ça soit pire) ?

    Cette dissonance soulignée à la fin de l'article est hyper importante.

    En ce qui me concerne, je ne suis pas encore convaincu de la (bonne) réponse.

    Vos avis ?

    @BassinesNon @jknodlseder je suppose que la response a la question dépend surtout du levier d’action et des possibilités qui nous sont offertes.

    Si les efforts fonctionnent, il faut alors absolument rester et continuer. Si on est face à un mur et qu’on sert clairement de greenwashing, alors la réponse est évidente qu’il faut partir.

    @jaztrophysicist En même temps, nous aussi on est un prétexte a donner un coup de pouce caché aux industries... C'est juste un tout petit peu mieux caché que le CIR, mais la finalité est absolument la même.
    Quand on finance une mission spatiale à des centaines de millions voire des miliards d'€, c'est pas vraiment pour la beauté de la science. C'est juste un moyen d'aider l'industrie spatiale.

    Mais là, ça ne choque personne ...

    @jknodlseder @dbarret @arsaintmartin Nous avons effectivement discuté de ce rapport aujourd'hui. Nous souscrivons clairement à beaucoup de leur conclusions, mais certaines sont assez maladroites, voir manquent de précision.

    Bon, c'est maintenant à nous d'écrire notre rapport de prospective. Seulement 10-12 pages, ça va être dense ! 🤯

    Yeah, if my memory is good, 8h of zoom is up to 192 gCO2eq (that's assuming 8h with the camera on and screen sharing), which is equivalent of ~1km with a gasoline car or ~1km by plane.

    500 miles by air flight is roughly equivalent to 9 continuous months of zoom (with screen sharing and camera on).

    (without considering the emissions from my institute which don't depend if I go or not).
