The fact is, 90% of the shit I yell into the void here could be directed at half the people in your life and on your TV; this is a fascist country that tells itself daily it's not like that and wallows in excuses for why reality ain't real and you're out of order for pointing out how fucking monstrous "American society" really is. In some ways, saying it out loud but not particularly at anyone, actually facilitates communication and learning. If you read me yelling at the wind, you don't HAVE to assume I'm talking about you, process what that means, and get defensive about it. Just know that I am talking to most of your neighbors, influencers, opinion writers, employers and political leaders - mainstream American thought is one big trap designed to get you to accept injustice, slavery and fascism; always has been.

Hada unfollow a bunch of you the past 10 days for my own sanity - I simply cannot do this for six months. On some level I hope you win, because I like breathing, but at the end of the day pretending things aren't the way they are, lives aren't already being destroyed, and being mad to the point of seeking the active fall of this fascist police state is a selfish choice somehow, is not acceptable to me. A lot of it comes down to two things:

A) for many of you, being crushed by a fascist police state remains a hypothetical and that's why you project this as something that will only happen under Trump. That's not true for anarchists, protestors, and marginalized ppl under the gun. Lives are being destroyed RIGHT now and your leaders are on the news clapping for it.

B) for many of you the quintessential issue is "yeah but if X, then it'll start happening to ME" and man, I can't with that.

Like I say a lot, you want it to be one way, but it's the other. You can't say "these guys are REAL as fuck fascists" and then just blithely ignore your team doing fascism, trying to hug it out with fascists, trying to court fascists, materially supplying fascists, cheering on fascist murderpigs while they crack skulls.

and even that, I woulda tolerated as you just being "wrong" - but you cannot resist SCOLDING folks actually fighting that fight, for not agreeing with your methods. It ain't me

I think there were lots of signs that this whole wing of the western "left" was garbage, but the really big tip off and the moment you should have caught the plot if you hadn't already, was when folks were marching in the streets to defund murderpigs and your fave influencer was going on about how the real problem was "identity politics" and how everyone talking about racism and queer rights were "neoliberalism and basically the CIA."

There really isn't much of a separation between Greenwald, Taibbi, Finkelstein, Burgis, Jimmy Dore (and the list keeps going) - they all have big opinions about why you're doing it wrong if anything you say makes white dudes uncomfortable. Wrapping that in psuedo-socialism and (not even) revolutionary verve doesn't really change that their message is "appease crackers or you're actually the enemy."
