Hada unfollow a bunch of you the past 10 days for my own sanity - I simply cannot do this for six months. On some level I hope you win, because I like breathing, but at the end of the day pretending things aren't the way they are, lives aren't already being destroyed, and being mad to the point of seeking the active fall of this fascist police state is a selfish choice somehow, is not acceptable to me. Especially not every 8 mins for 6 months. See you in December if you don't rage block me.

A lot of it comes down to two things:

A) for many of you, being crushed by a fascist police state remains a hypothetical and that's why you project this as something that will only happen under Trump. That's not true for anarchists, protestors, and marginalized ppl under the gun. Lives are being destroyed RIGHT now and your leaders are on the news clapping for it.

B) for many of you the quintessential issue is "yeah but if X, then it'll start happening to ME" and man, I can't with that.

Like I say a lot, you want it to be one way, but it's the other. You can't say "these guys are REAL as fuck fascists" and then just blithely ignore your team doing fascism, trying to hug it out with fascists, trying to court fascists, materially supplying fascists, cheering on fascist murderpigs while they crack skulls.

I mean look I understand why folks are concerned that Telegram is working with Afrikaner Supervillain Elon Musk to discredit their competitors, and folks are concerned about the lack of encryption, what I want to know is why you didn't think an openly nazi company wasn't probably doxing you for fascists already? So like, this isn't a boycott or anything, but no I'm not gonna watch Coppala's new epic/disaster because he cast Jon Voight in it, and I've now seen enough unhinged, incoherent fascist raving pro-Trump videos and messages produced by Voight that my ability to suspend my disbelief when he's on screen is basically over. My politics are not inconsistent, I simply keep getting lefter as I uncover and deconstruct my own reaction and colonization. I think there were lots of signs that this whole wing of the western "left" was garbage, but the really big tip off and the moment you should have caught the plot if you hadn't already, was when folks were marching in the streets to defund murderpigs and your fave influencer was going on about how the real problem was "identity politics" and how everyone talking about racism and queer rights were "neoliberalism and basically the CIA."

There really isn't much of a separation between Greenwald, Taibbi, Finkelstein, Burgis, Jimmy Dore (and the list keeps going) - they all have big opinions about why you're doing it wrong if anything you say makes white dudes uncomfortable. Wrapping that in psuedo-socialism and (not even) revolutionary verve doesn't really change that their message is "appease crackers or you're actually the enemy."

Just for clarity - I have 2 books by that guy on my shelf; like I said, it's hard to know in ADVANCE that someone is going to zip screaming down the fascist slip and slide because they've been "cancelled" for having abhorrent positions on other ppl's existence - see also, Matt Taibbi, who used to be one of my fave writers before he completely lost the plot.
