Don't come for me Catholics; I was raised Catholic and I full well know where the bodies are buried. You know full damn well that it's not an accident that folks from our religious culture have been among the most prominent supporters for historical fascism - see Mussolini, and Franco for just two examples. What makes you think it's different now?

I didn't say "every Catholic" but you're lying out your ass if you want to pretend Catholics ain't always had a powerful and prominent fascist wing.

Gotta be honest with you, I don't have a lot of patience for folks (many ostensibly liberal or progressive) saying "he's a conservative Catholic, speaking at a conservative Catholic college, what did you expect?"

Either finish the thought and say "and Conservative Catholics are clearly fascists" or take a seat because just letting them "have their beliefs" when those beliefs are fascist and they're sharing that ideology in public spaces, is how we got here in the first place.

So, I just want to be clear about the state of things:

This Democrat administration, is pretty sure that the Republican Party is totalitarian (fascist) and a grave threat to American democracy. That same administration, strongly supports international law and the "rules based order." Nevertheless, that same administration is actively working with the GOP, to sanction the International Criminal Court to prevent them from bringing a warrant against Israeli officials for doing genocide.

Like I've said a million times, stop telling me "this is the most important election in American history" and start telling Joe Biden and his administration; because I'm not running for President, and if I'm being honest, it doesn't look like Joe is either. His name is on the ballot, but he doesn't seem to be aware of it. He'd rather burn it all down for Bibi Netanyahu and the fascist Likud Party.

I serve on my HOA and our President just called me and essentially cussed me out because I'm having a Q&A for people who want to run to be on the board because, in her words, "You could have just told people to come to me" and "You didnt ask for anyone else's input" despite the fact that I did and she just never responded to my email about the idea.

@BlackAzizAnansi I didn't want to say anything because I don't know the people involved, but this sorta firms up what I was thinking - she sounds like someone who wants to control who sits on the board through the application of social power; the "you could have asked them to talk to me" bit sounds like unofficial screening. I dunno what you should do, but it sounds like SOMEONE should run against her because that's bad shit waiting to happen.

Related aside: really need to do something about this framing that fascist politicians are hiding something from potential voters; that's literally the opposite of the purpose of a fascist dogwhistle. I know it's really hard for folks to accept that their neighbors and coworkers are CHOOSING fascism and not just collosal rubes, but at some point you just need to cowgirl up and deal with reality. These are not accidental fascists, just because they won't SAY it doesn't mean they haven't chosen

This is about "plausible" deniability; these nazis are not "accidentally" quoting Hitler and throwing fascist dogwhistles into their campaign ads and rhetoric. What they're doing is signaling clear as day to their base that "we're gonna let you choose fascism, without having to admit you're a fascist, and once we've got control, the facts on the (bloodied) ground will be what they are." And you're playing right into it by pretending the everyday nazis you know, don't understand that implicitly.

Han was right, I'm not for nihilism, so don't bother telling me the odds. Even if there were one tenth of one percent chance of success, I'd still be fighting that fight because the other option is slavery and death. Our odds are actually quite a bit better than that, but I have no patience for the "it's too late, might as well go and eat worms" folks. They sizing you up for a coffin they're gonna make you pay them for all the same, despite your hip ironic detachment.

Whenever someone tells me they fear revolution because "it could end badly" I simply translate that to "at this point in time, fascist capitalist fuckbarrel world isn't targeting me specifically so I'm for keeping it no matter how many other people it murders and enslaves."

Dawg, they're literally boiling the planet like soup; I guarantee you that "the mob" you fear so much can't do any worse that "causing a mass extinction event that will end human life on Earth."

Look, there is never going to be a point in my life where campists and campism are my BIGGEST problems, and as such I mostly don't care. But I'm 47 years old now, and over that time I can't help but have noticed that campism is an open doorway for nazis who infiltrate our communities; nazis who will, absolutely betray you the moment they control the state. I'm an anarchist, that by its very nature implies an opposition to states, heirarchies, and quite frankly militaries. I'm not here for it. I'm not gonna do Uncle Sam's dirty work in the middle of our endless wars against everyone who doesn't want to be slaves to American corporations (you will note, I'm NOT naming states/orgs here right now) but that ain't mean I fucking agree with these people about how a society should work. I am not a fan and I'm sure as fuck not a nationalist. That is all.

Okay, I guess that isn't ALL, one more thing. I strongly believe that nationalism has literally one valid purpose or application; that application is the establishment of a national identity for the purposes of resisting, and ultimately toppling, an oppressive minority colonial state that has enslaved a colonized majority.

My advice to you however is that AFTER you've overthrown the slavers, you ditch the nationalism; because once that part is over, it leads to zero good outcomes.

(Dawg even Marx believed you had to have capitalism, to eventually reach socialism; most people who study the history of societies understand that this stuff works in stages. It does no good to tell people living under the boot to adopt anarchist ideals when their choices are fight for freedom, or die in chains. But there's a limit. I try to thread that needle by saving my criticism for power, while never adopting or embracing reactionary ideology. I may disagree, but I save that gas for power.)

(Please don't tell me the Guardian isn't a good paper, I know, I've been around for their just asking questions TERF island nonsense; but they just declared the supreme court wholly illegitimate and then called out Biden for pretending he's withholding weapons from Israel to trick progressives while absolutely not actually doing that. If I could get this kinda coverage in WaPo, I wouldn't be saying it. American papers tiptoeing around the sanctity of our institutions and "hard choices.")

But the society around me doesn't blink an eye at dead revolutionaries, and I don't know how to make them. Which leaves me with the other way - there have to be so many of us that they'd run out of bullets trying to whack us all. And I personally don't believe we're there yet; if the conversations I have every day, here and in "real life" are any indication, not enough ppl have accepted what time it is yet. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm cynical, maybe I haven't mathed the situation out correctly, but I can only act on what I believe, and I know there are no second chances this time.

I spent 10 years trying to get ppl to accept it was fascism; I've only gotten anywhere the past few. I've spent 10 years trying to get ppl to understand this capitalist system isn't built for them, and doesn't care about them; only when the planet started openly boiling, was anyone really willing to listen. Every day, I'm still trying to get ppl to understand the big plan here is to kill billions of us for capitalism b/c it can't continue on heatworld without it; still barely moving that needle.

But I ain't figured out how yet, and in the meantime all I can do is keep making the argument, showing folks how it be, trying to guide them to a place where they're looking for answers too. I'm good at "how it be" but I'm no leader, and I can't do it for them.

It's been 10 years, and I figure I've managed to show maybe 400 people how this fuckbarrel society works - I'm hoping, they have better solutions than I do; because this work is hard, I'm tired, and I ain't had time to find them. I cannot, by myself, be too many people to silence, destroy, murder.
