I was privy to an interesting convo today on different people’s complex feelings around the term #neuropsicy vs #neurodivergent. I know people who passionately prefer one, both, or an alternative non-medical umbrella term to describe their unique neurotype when not using specific language from medical books or the DSM-5.

While I’m less likely to say Neurospicy, I respect it’s use and love language as it changes. Do you find that it is used more with close circles or with fellow Neurospicy individuals? As always, no pressure to answer.

I am hunting for an exact pattern match—"The Blueberry Plate," my 8 yr old niece's favorite dish. She accidentally dropped her plate while trying to get it to the sink. 16P Proximal Deletion Syndrome, another type of neurodivergence in my family, can make muscle tone, coordination, and proprioception difficult. Week two into my move and new job. Rumbling has been a difficult to manage, but I’ve known for a long time that good and bad experiences can lead to rumbling and meltdowns or shutdowns. I’m hopeful for a time soon when the newness wears off a bit and routine can shoulder some of the burden of stimulation. #autism#autistic#audhd

I've enjoyed using Meetup.com to find peer groups to engage with. If you have never used Meetup.com to find local ND groups, I recommend checking it out. In 2021, I found a local autism peer group over Zoom—that group was and is profoundly informative, validating, and often enjoyable. #actuallyautistic#autism#autistic#audhd
Over the weekend, someone told me they went and picked blueberries with friends. I mentioned I love blueberries! Today I found a bag of frozen blueberries waiting for me. 🥰 A good surprise!
@actuallyautistic This morning I was called a yokel, a word I have not heard outside of old television in my lifetime until now—among other labels. When I asked them to clarify how they used yokel, the coworker identified many visible #autistic traits they had been noting since we met yesterday, paired with appearing young.
