Couldn’t put it any better than Nate White does here:

“He has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace - all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed.”

“Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers.”

Took this while I was out shooting the Canada Geese, using the 100-400mml lens, which really isn’t ideal for flower macros, but it came out better than I expected.

This is escallonia, or redclaw, a pink flowering hedge plant that we have around the neighborhood.

This is worth a watch. For those who think all USB-C cables are equal, and Apple is just ripping people off with their $130 cable.

We took my wife's Q5 down to LA, mainly because my 91 year old mother-in-law doesn't like getting in & out of the Taycan. Didn't need fuel for the car en route, but both ways we stopped twice for 30+ minutes each time anyway (for restrooms, lunch and just to stretch our legs). And in all the places we stopped (4 different ones in total), there were chargers (Electrify Americ, Tesla and sometimes ChargePoint too). No real time difference to take an EV vs ICE any longer.

Just went looking for a post I made earlier that I couldn't see on here. Finally, I have found the @ivory drafts, and shockingly there are 50 posts in there that it has for some reason failed to post, and failed to tell me that it failed to post.

How can it silently fail to post? That seems like a serious flaw. There are posts, and replies, going way back. Might have to try some of the other apps again if I can't trust this one to actually post when I tap the post button.

This is a really good idea. Ice cream trucks tend to sit in a place all day, running their fossil fuel burning engine to keep everything chilled, and pumping noxious fumes into the air and over the lines of children waiting for their ice cream.

This one is 100% electric. No fumes. Also, no noisy engine. Just the gentle hum of the compressors keeping the ice cream chilled.

Was about to give Lightroom another go (for tethered mode…) but then I launched the installer and remembered this is an Adobe product… nevermind.

@schwa Hmm… very clean UI. I don’t use that part. Just launch the classic version of LR and it can open PS with the photo I’m working on loaded,

This is a much better look at the nonsense announcement from that their combustion engine will make obsolete.

Even if somebody miraculously created a network of hydrogen filling stations, the engine is far less efficient. In reality, hydrogen is just a way for fossil fuel companies to keep selling their products. Only now it is reformed into hydrogen.

I love how @wordpress just randomly decides to stop collecting stats. Then one day I'll open the dashboard and find it telling me to activate stats again. That invariably says it failed, but actually works (reloading the page shows it). But then there is a gap where it decided not to bother collecting information.

Like below where apparently at some point on January 8/9 it just deactivated itself.

Sigh. Asked my 9 year old what was wrong with this sign, painted on a wall in a restaurant, and she told me immediately.

Sad to hear that a driver in the UK is putting out videos that are obviously designed to make the car look bad. Moggy at does a great job of highlighting all the FUD in his two videos of drives through Wales.

It regularly destroys my bird feeder, or knocks it to the ground, but when I go out to admonish it, the thing just comes up to me looking for peanuts. Hard to remain angry with something this cute, especially when it’s likely just hungry too.

Kids walked home from school and said it was really smoky outside. Just checked the map and saw this. Then got the text saying tonight’s soccer practice for my daughter was canceled.

Three videos in less than a week. Two claiming will have fantastic battery tech and AI optimizations that will give their BEVs amazing range and one stating their hydrogen strategy will make EVs obsolete.

I watched the hydrogen one and it is laughable. It actually ends by saying hydrogen engines, being mechanical like gas engines, will be easier to repair than EVs.

Started adding some of my photos to https://pixels.com/profiles/23-john-gordon - but so far very little traffic looking at the photos.

Will try to get most of the ones I post here uploaded there too. So far, the most interest in the few there has been for the duck silhouette I posted a few days ago.

Since I'm watching paint dry (OK, multi-arch container builds "build"), I was dreaming a little. E-Type Jags are too expensive now to think about converting to electric power, but then one of these caught my eye...

It's an early (first gen) Corvette, and I think it looks pretty fantastic. Drop out that old fossil burner and put in a Tesla drive train and I think this could be a fun little two seater...

The white handed gibbons at have always been one of my favourite photographic subjects, though it is often hard to get good shots. On our last visit the new male was sitting still at the top of a tree, with his mate and their new baby playing next to him. I think he looks very thoughtful and serious here.

There is something oddly amusing about a company that sells online collaboration tools insisting that the only way its employees can be effective is to be physically in the same building.

Also, given the distributed nature of the offices these large companies have, I suspect a lot of their meetings have at least a few people from another site in them.

This is not about the workers. It is about the managers, not knowing how to manage a remote team.

I saw this yesterday, with clips of people fighting to get hold of these things, as well as ads on eBay and other marketplaces selling these for hundreds of dollars. I just don't see why. It's a pink (or red) travel mug. What's the big deal?

Since I watched his videos yesterday, the YT algorithm has decided I need to know when he posts new ones (no need to click the bell or subscribe it seems).

Anyway, this was the title of today's video and I was thinking that he may have found a way to be rid of the EV he hates so much.

But no, that title is just click bait. The "accident" he had was he entered the wrong address for his destination in the nav. The damage is to his "reputation" not the car.
