@niclake @_IanOfEarth I highly recommend giving one critical mass ride a go some time! It’s fun, as social as you care to make it, and potentially see your city in a new way if you don’t normally ride as if you’ve got safety in numbers.

If there’s a reasonably sized city near you, Nic, there may be one there. Some relatively small ones around Ireland do.

@niclake I think it depends a lot on your interests? I’ve not come across a tonne of keyboard folk, but I do have some. Perhaps not a bulk of who I follow, but the following mane up a bulk of the posts I see:
people with overlap in the venn diagram of climate, urban transport, and Ireland.
Your mileage is likely to vary.

I’m definitely over indexed in preparing for the worst (both in general and specifically here), but I think my favorite feature of my Bambu X1C is that: It just works.

I had an Ender 3 for years before this and if I didn’t use it for more than a few days something would go wrong. Just ran off a print on my X1C for the first time in weeks and not an issue in sight.

@_IanOfEarth I’ve not used mine in a while, despite having ideas for a few small, yet functional, prints, because I expect my E3 Pro won’t ✨ just work. ✨ I’m not prepared for 🌈 a whole thing 🌈 which may take longer than the print times combined.

@niclake @_IanOfEarth I think for me to put effort into it again I’d either have sufficiently many small needs or a big need. Once mine’s in good order it usually stays that way with only minor tweaks if in regular use. The issue has been a lack of activation energy thus far, but I expect to overcome it eventually.

Recommendations for a daypack that A) is able to be stashed into a larger carry on backpack, and B) can carry a MacBook around during the day? Ideally packs and smushes quite flat when empty, but a bit of padding for the laptop

@christianselig Tom Bihn’s Daylight is one I’ve been considering for a bag I could pack into a bag, but it’s bring-your-own-padding for laptops. The only padding seems to be in the straps.

@ronanmcd I do feel like the No on family may just be close-mindedness rather than a result with any consideration for the government, though that’s just my feeling in it.
