@GottaLaff I keep having this niggling feeling in the back of my brain - what do these MAGATs know or think they know about November, and beyond? What keeps them doubling down on the rhetoric and actions that clearly, proven in vote after vote - get voted down. Relentlessly.

Just wearing us down? Do they "know" something we don't know, or that we can't fathom - of the violent bullshit they are going to unleash in November, or January?

It makes no sense to me. And yet..here they are...

So here's how it's going:

We got all the furniture into the POD and now have to pack what's remaining in the kitchen. So things are a little messy

Our twins are down from Canada helping, & their dear friend is here for the night from San Diego, to see them. We adore her. But it's a little chaotic

At 4:30 am we get a text--coincidentally we're awake--from our pal/realtor! We'd missed her earlier text, we have a showing today at 12:30. Oy. & why was SHE up?

@Wileymiller @GottaLaff More - making the normal course of events, the laws and procedures in place, somehow sinister and evil. Even here in our little old Missouri Capital City - an article in the paper today cites a PAC as wildly left wing, quote "they use leftist buzzwords like 'transparency' and 'democracy'." This from our county's Republican Committee "voice".

POD #2 for our furniture comes tomorrow, as do my twins, down from BC to help us! We leave in 5 days!

Ever have days when you have so much going on that your insides are on perma-rev-up and you can't slow it down?

Today is that day. We finished spackling/painting all the spots where artwork was hanging, we've dusted, vacuumed, and prepped the house. Our painters were unavailable, so it was us.

By the time the showing and trial are over today, I'll need to unwind. Lucky for me, Hammy needs walking at just the right time. That always does it.

1/ Health Update:

The big news is, I ain't dying - or at least not from my amyloidosis diagnosis (go ahead, say that 10 times fast! Ha!) - or at least not any time soon. Yes, I have amyloidosis. No, I don't have a really evil variety - i.e. one that loves to invade the heart. So going forward, need to keep an eye on my bladder, and in 3 years or so, do another nuclear/CT-scan like we did yesterday…

They are pulling fiber through our neighborhood this morning. SOOOOO excited! Can't wait to get rid of the ridiculous cable company that is currently the only option for speedy internet. Cable does have the speed. But only when it's actually working. Anyway - fiber! BRING IT!

You know, from about 2015, through 2020, I would open my news aps wondering to myself, "what has the Orange One done now?"

Now in 2024, I'm so sick, nauseated, disgusted, amazed and TERRIFIED by him. And yet, he is still, STILL an almost hourly presence in (your fav media here).

And worse. His poison has seeped into state, county and local politics as well.

We MUST stop this madness.

Apparently my body is in revolt. Off to the big city today for some "dread disease" testing, analysis and prognosis in the morning.

One of those rare, most people never heard of it things.

Dodged a plumbing bullet this morning. Hot water to the kitchen frozen (it's -7f here this morning) - which is weird on so many levels - did I mention it was the HOT water side that froze. (I know, I know, physics!)

Anyway, a gentle warmup with a hair dryer and we're back in business, without the "pleasure" of a burst pipe. Now to find the air leak that permitted this to happen.

@GottaLaff This may or may not apply to you, but it took us a year to sell a property (it was a difficult market time). Don’t be afraid to change realtors. A place gets stale with a realtor - can’t be helped. Over time, other properties are more “in mind”.

For us, 1st realtor - renewed term twice. 2nd - twice. Third - sold within a month. Can’t deny market condition changes may have helped/hurt - but my point is, changing “horses” may help freshen the effort.

No matter how many furniture pads/quilts you have, it's not enough. Get more.

Rolls of film: More is always better. Wrap everything padded.
