Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 175 , Saturday 20/04/2024

TL:DR Saturday - yay ! ; Chores, Dune & Fedi-friends - what more could a Squirrel want? (Hint - not to be messed about by energy companies !!)

Up around 7am or there abouts , breakfast then chatted with friends on here for a little while.

I managed to get out for a walk , the sunshine lured me out & although I kept it to a short walk , due to the PF in my foot & the threat of dizzy spells if I pushed myself too far, I did enjoy it.

Caught up with my chores & after lunch Mrs S. & I settled down to a Dune fest . Iโ€™ve seen Part 1 before but Part 2 was a totally new experience! They have made a really good fist of it & I look forward to Part 3 - although that is looking like 2028 / 2030!

Made some new friends in the Fediverse today & strengthened my friendship with others . This place is so cool , there are some truly lovely folks here !

The only sour note today is that Octopus Energy seem to be as crap at taking readings as EDF, for Nugganโ€™s sake can these companies not due a very basic part of their job properly ??

Final Thoughts.

I am exhausted by the amount of energy I have to expend on stuff that should just happen in the background. Was it always like this & I was just to tied up in myself to notice ?

We had a few glitches with Octopus initially but they settled down very quickly and Mr DT has been happy with them!!

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 170 , Monday 15/04/2024

TL:DR

Up at quarter to Oh My Gawd (aka 05:45) this morning goit brutally abused by a super wet cat who came charging into the kitchen from out of the rain !

The day progressed as normal until about 10:30 when I worked up the nerve to chase EDF over the fact that rather than billing us for a month , as I expected they billed us for 2 weeks - just because !
I spoke to a nice lady who promised to sort it out & call back within about 20 minutes - still waiting at 8pm !

Went onto the web page & it seems they have cancelled all this years bills & (ignoring the fact that we have paid up to date as of the march bill ) want to charge us for the whole year to date - AGAIN !
Iโ€™m going to sort out this current billing crisis then up sticks & move to Octopus, who appear to be the least bad option currently.

Watched โ€˜The Bountyโ€™ this afternoon to try & help me forget EDF for a while !

Succumbed to the temptation of pizza for tea , I needed comfort food !

Final Thoughts.

Please Nuggan donโ€™t let this think with EDF drag on like it did last year , it might break me permanently if it does !

So sorry EDF are screwing around again!!
Octopus energy has been a good call for us so far!!!
We had a couple of hiccups when we were transferred over to them.
But we were just one of many accounts that were transferred to them, when lots of small suppliers went to the wall!!

TL:DR EDF round 2, otherwise a fairly normal Saturday.

Not a bad all told.

Up around 7am, breakfast, fussed the cats then chores.

Got an email from EDF today , once again they have buggered up the bill ! I am sick of them they really are the dregs of the Power industry !!
Monday will see the start of a search for a new Gas / electricity provider , I am done with these cowboys !!

Hit ESO to vent some frustration, sometimes being a game addict has its advantages!

The new insoles to help with the PF in my right foot arrived around lunchtime so have fitted them into relevant bits of footwear.

Finished the day watching a few more Supernatural episodes & then started a Terminator fest.
The original is from 1984, in many ways it has survived well, but the special effects fail on a HDR 4K tv, you can almost see the string in the fighter scenes !
When Arnie gets his eye damaged the automaton they use is fairly blatant.
Some of the tech is , not surprisingly, ancient now - Walkmans & old corded phones.
But for all that the film is still very watchable.

Final Thoughts.

I refuse to allow EDF to screw with my MH again - it took me 6 months to fully recover last year (into the beginning of this year) ! So adios robbing buggers .

The first square below has been the most complicated, and I'm not sure I have the pattern completely right, but the dark yarn, hides it I think, also I reckon to anyone who doesn't know what the pattern should look like they'll never know. It took the days to get to where it is so I wasn't going to start again ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”
The second was tough but I got the hang of it fairly quickly ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

Crochet square with a heather coloured centre and yellow border, it has a bobble and Chevron pattern

Ran out of the original yellow on this one so it's got a colour change at the outer edge, but as I'm doing the whole project from Stash yarn, it was to be expected!!
The pattern looked complicated but I managed it by reading the paper pattern ๐Ÿ˜
