Advice needed on recommending groups:

I would like to mention groups in the daily picks, but this means the post itself would end up in the group, and if people mention the group's address in their replies, the replies would end up in the group too.

I could mention the groups with spaces in the address, but would everyone understand why I'm doing it? Would they find it easy to remove the spaces?

Anyone have thoughts on the matter?

FediFollows,

@jzitt

Spaces tend to be the most common as far as I know.

I guess I could add an extra post after the picks explaining why there are spaces in some addresses, and telling people about groups?

I'm trying to list more Fediverse groups on fedi.directory. You can see groups I've listed so far at https://fedi.directory/tag/fediverse-groups/

I've tried to only list groups that are active and have a friendly atmosphere.

If you have any groups you think I should add, let me know in the replies! :)

As far as I know they work in a similar way to Guppe and Chirp, but you have to be a Friendica user to set one up. Also, Friendica groups can have several moderators.

Hi people! Just moved there from Twitter and I'm a bit clueless about how Mastodon works, all I know that it's decentralized. What are some top things I need to know?

Each day or so they post a collection of people to follow in a certain topic, and while not all topics will suit your interests, some will and they will for sure give you easy access to some new people or organizations to follow.
