If this suggests some conflict on my part to the non-hoopnerds, there is no conflict. The implicit thing here is we are in the zenith of basketball, even if I no longer have a rooting interest. That in and of itself is merits going to the bar and enjoying The Basketball and also pints on a tornado-y Tuesday in May.

By the way, maybe a super-cool time to go to a bar is during a big storm because, in here right now, it's like this weird smattering of regulars and people who just kind of traipsed in here because they were walking home and THIS place was open, so there's definitely a vibe of what if a neighborhood bar was also where a shipwreck happened, and - AND - there's a miniature collie in one of the booths.

When I sit Athena and Khan, I often see the nice young couple nextdoor and always hear their dogs when I take Athena and Khan out and have occasionally seen one or two of their dogs but the other night I went outside and they'd just gotten back from work and were letting their dogs out to pee and there were FIVE dogs and it was late-ish so I shouldn't have been shouting from yard to yard but I yelled "HOLY SHIT you have FIVE DOGS."

I'm sure this was valuable information because they probably didn't know.
