@bobmagicii I’m not sure that I like it yet. My normal face is analog, and sometimes when I was too lazy figure out how to read it, I had a digital one that I could swipe over to and back quickly. Now I can’t do that without extra effort.

    great.

    all we wanted was custom trigger words so people near you cant screw with you. now its even easier to set off. thanks apple. really listened to consumers on that.

    we were already triggering eachother's phones all the time with phrases like "seriously"

    personally i want mine to respond to oi, phone.

    I had shared this in FB but not here — mini-me had a seizure on Friday when I got back from my 2nd hospital visit to get pain meds for my bruised ribs (ironically she kicked me in the same ribs while I was getting her on her side). CT scan showed nothing but she’s at a different hospital emerg room right now as her family doctor is concerned about really high white blood cell counts and memory loss. Good thoughts for her please.

    I'm going on a little expedition at the end of the week, and would like to listen to a 10 hour (or so) serialised podcast series. Any recommendations?

    I like the BBC serialised stories (Missing Cryptoqueen, Lazarus Heist, Very British Cult,13 Minutes to the Moon) etc…, but open to other interesting things!

    I have a number of domain names, only some of which I use that are up for renewal soon. My current registrar is good, but also pricey. What's a good registrar these days?

    Good: Inexpensive, lets me set custom DNS records, simple UI, no complex upsells to hosting, company isn't malevolent dipshits.

    I still remember the first time I gave my kid gum.

    I explained gum to him, and asked him if he wanted a piece. He said yes. I handed him a piece, looked him in the eyes and reminded him not to swallow it. I turned my attention to the package to retrieve a piece for myself, once I had retrieved it I returned my attention to him. I noticed he wasn’t chewing. I asked him where the gum was, he looked at me, confused, and said “I swallowed it.”

    @9to5Mac The last time I tried to trade in a device with Apple (about a year ago, iPhone 13 Pro for 14 Pro), Apple tried to rescind their offer, claiming that my device was damaged beyond repair when they received it. It was sent in perfect condition. After many hours chatting with them, I finally requested a manager who said they’d investigate. Within 15 minutes of ending the conversation, I had the original offer accepted and in my bank account.
