It's a pilot for a show that is Kickstarter funded, run by folks whose shows got cancelled or in some cases were recently laid off.
It hits harder, emotionally speaking, than I thought it would considering I expected a comedy. But I want episode 2 so bad. Hoping the next few episodes can get funded!
The more I think about it, the more I think Mastodon needs an ethical, community-run algorithm for its next stage of growth. If we want to see a new surge of monthly active users, I think the folks who are left on the outside are wanting some kind of recommendation for content.
My preference is a chronological feed from a mental health perspective, but if the people want an algorithm, it would still be a win to give folks ethical options in their control.
I find the etymology of surnames to be fascinating, maybe because my first and last name are pretty boring. I was in a meeting this morning with an individual with the last name of "Bonesteel". There's just GOT to be a story there.
I'm starting by installing Silverblue and then rebasing instead of trying UBlue's installer. Since I'm going to the Bazzite-Asus image specifically I didn't see any direct installation instructions for it, so rebasing seemed safer.
Alright, I entered the rebasing command and it seems to be thinking for a bit. No feedback yet in the terminal to let me know what the deal is. Is it downloading the other image right now?
We're cooking! I have the image up and working. Will have to figure out how to get it to work with Secure Boot since I had to disable that, but at least it's in a workable state.
me when I am flipping around in the lenovo website to find the fedora config of the thinkpad x1 carbon for each country so that people don't get their shopping carts reset after they select what country they live in
Any recommendations on a kanban style app that's native to Linux? I want to organize my tasks with an Eisenhower decision matrix and a Kanban board would be great for that. Most of what I'm finding are task lists which I don't want because they don't take advantage of horizontal screen real estate.
@grueproof I love that documentary! It was awesome to learn about a time in computers that I was too young for, but also to see how similar online communities still are to that time.
wow it is spooky how well that upgrade went. im already done. there's nothing else for me to do
Thank you to @kde for having a graphical way of upgrading! It was a pleasant surprise when I saw I didn't have to continue this process in the terminal!
