I'd ask "is there a way to stop the new mastodon from autoexpanding images, from putting every single favorite in my notification with the entire web preview expanded, and to get favorite notifications without it showing the whole thing to me every time"
But the answer is pretty obviously no.
This version is a huge step backwards in user experience.
There are likely others, but I really like dev.pinafore.social for how fast and light it is, and elk.zone for how feature-rich, while still being light.
I'm sure it's not as creepy as it seems that suddenly patreon pages I left years ago are hitting everyone up... but we're not going to do that to people.
