Analysis

Chicago, 1968: Anti-war protests, a divided Democratic Party, an unpopular candidate hobbled by a foreign military conflict.

Protests are planned for this August's Democratic National Convention.

Chicago has refused to give the necessary permits, citing lack of police resources & security concerns.

The city has offered an alternative protest site four miles away & out of sight from convention-goers.

Organizers say "unacceptable" & have sued.

@DrALJONES I honestly think they will cancel both conventions. They would rather forego the publicity in order to avoid being criticized.
