so far I haven't been able to successfully grow Pulsatilla pratensis var. nigricans. Time to give it another goโ€”they're a Kaltkeimer so I should put them on the fridge right now, to have them ready to seed indoors in March, to adapt them to the rock garden outside in April. this time I want to try to sprout a lot of seeds and see what takes.

P. p. nigricans is all of endangered, native, good for bees, and goth, so I really want to get some going.

If I compost, that is for 2 main reasons:

One, I care for this planet and I think that we need to be responsible for it. I can't watch the neglectful behavior of men who have become a real danger for it and do nothing. I do not want when the next generations ask me why has your generation destroyed our planet to give them a concert of bullshit excuses, they deserve better.

Two because I noticed every time I eat homegrown food it tastes so much better than any produce you can buy that is very expensive and does not taste good.

Tell me more about the reasons that have pushed you to compost.

@compost. Composting is wonderful. It is about making healthy soil with help from the worms and the nematodes.

Hey ! My composting newsletter, the Aerobic Digest is out.

In it I detail how I made compost last year, share a rather eccentric 1939 booklet on compost making, and showcase some art about the acoustic study of the soil biome.

    OK. The and tags are thickly populated with scientific and mass media evidence of our grim future.

    But I really would like to see more people posting about their individual struggles and responses.

    It's easy to repost an article with a clever commentโ€ฆ but we need more personal stories IMHO.

    Curb haul from the past couple of days: 1. Perfectly good microphone stand, have been looking for one to hold up the mic on podcasts, etc. 2. Piece of plywood cutoff and 3. Fragment of tar roofing paper (the second and third are going to be the roof for my Little Free Library).

    @feinschmeckergarten. The Southern Minnesota soil is wonderful. The recent glaciers are responsible. This region was both the tall grass prairie and the big woods. The last glaciers receded about 20,000 years ago. ,

    @Pollinators@epicure.social avatar

    @feinschmeckergarten. Your region has young geology. The glaciers just left. Itโ€™s a very interesting region. The North Sea and Baltic must moderate the temperatures. Our USDA growing zone increased five degrees Fahrenheit in the last ten years. The low end is -25 Fahrenheit. ,

    Tomato Kasundi is on my mind. Thank you Ganga in Australia. We made seven quarts this morning. Itโ€™s tasty right now and will get tastier.
