So, what's the thing, what's the big thing no one can help you with? How do you cope with it?

SpaceAce,
@SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar

@KateOfMind @RickiTarr I lived in a horrid fog of pain for a blip, like 10 weeks or something, and I realized jeez what a privileged oblivious world we usually live in . I'm so sorry especially you, one of the coolest people ever

Seriously heard someone saying they don't listen to many black artists, because they aren't really into rap. Bitch please, feel free to share songs from Black artists from any genre. Here is one of my favorites, if you like this song please check out her other work:

    @flockofnazguls didn't George Lucas speak to Congress or something in the 80s against people colorizing classic films

    Okay, I wanted to make a joke that I can't possibly choose between dogs and cats, I can't even choose between men and women, because I'm bi-furrious. BUT I know y'all would make jokes about me in the comments, because you all are perverts. GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER!

    My friend is in Spain, it's about 6:30 there where she is, she just sent me this hilarious video. She's at what looks like a wonderful little restaurant or bar, she's sitting outside the sun is shining over the water and a guy in the background is playing guitar to entertain them and he's singing WONDERWALL in Spanish

    Back in the 90s there used to be this competing local carrier - the only competition against USWest/Quest/whatever they are now - called I think McClouds?

    Anyway I signed up with em to save some bucks but they were bad for some reason, I forget why. No 411 or something. The point of the story is I remember calling their customer service and it was in Ireland!?! Haha like wow if you think India doing CS is difficult man that was pretty hilarious

    Irish cs phone service. Not a thing now!

    DARK PLANET - final thoughts - never thought I'd see the day where Michael York and Maria Ford have a fight but there it was. Michael York and actress/author Harley Jane Kozak were fantastic in their roles and elevated this movie. Maria Ford held her own as the weird Alpha enhanced human thing - the other actors were just okay. Can't accuse it of not having a plot and suspense etc but cheesy cgi and a couple scenes that betrayed the b-movie origins. It's mildly okay at best! But great job MF!

    Felt #4 - Ignite The Seven Cannons And Set Sail For The Sun

    haha I might have to thread my comments about this. Produced by Robin Guthrie of the Cocteau Twins and Liz Fraser sings a song with Lawrence which winds up being Felt's biggest hit ever "Primitive Painters"
    This was the first album with Martin Duffy and the last album with Maurice Deebank and I don't think that's a coincidence. (cont)

    SpaceAce,
    @SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar
    1. As Stephin Merritt once said "The effect is like Yes if Steve Howe and Rick Wakeman just kept soloing, under and over the vocals and each other." haahah he's not wrong

    The vinyl reissue of this was - Lawrence remixed it took off all Guthrie's reverb and stuff and that is an interesting listen I can't say it's not but I like the Cocteau Twins, I like all the reverb. I think Lawrence is a little miffed their biggest hit is produced by someone else with a guest vocalist.

    We're idiots and I have anxiety. We misunderstood each other, meters confused us with the trees, and I didn't fight back thinking Kyle knew better than me lol

    We definitely don't have space for two of the three trees we bought yesterday 🫠

    We'll have nice trees to donate (anyone? Lol).

    We'll keep the magnolia, and we got a dappled willow, a weeping larch and a dwarf Korean lilac instead. We feel stupid, but much better with our new choices.

    As I said, we're idiots.

    Felt #5 - Forever Breathes The Lonely Word

    JESUS Lawrence had a lot of pressure on this record.

    1. First record after their biggest hit from the last album, "Primitive Painters"
    2. First record without Maurice Deebank who was his partner in crime the first half of Felt's existence - as if Mick Jagger lost Keith Richards halfway through their career
    3. First record after the jump to Creation

    He put out an album with no instrumentals no weirdness just..it's perfect

    This is everyone's fave btw

    It never ceases to amaze me that was considered such a goofy, comical novelty act for covering songs that were 15 years old. "Get a Job" by the was a #1 record in 1958.

    This would be the equivalent of somebody today covering Lady Gaga's "Poker Face."

    @flockofnazguls I've lately had this stupid problem where none of my ripping software recognize the disc but I can copy .wavs from a term window - gui and non gui ripping software. It's very very annoying

    SpaceAce,
    @SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar

    @flockofnazguls nooo i don't think you understand my pain...it's not the db
    there's .wav files from the disc in the explorer window or whatever but asunder doesn't see a disc

    ahha and look at when i just try to query the drive with cdparanoia

    jason@Barbara:~$ cdparanoia -sQ
    cdparanoia III release 10.2 (September 11, 2008)

    004: Unable to read table of contents header

    Unable to open disc. Is there an audio CD in the drive?

    the ONLY way i can copy the files are bare .wavs so wtf is up
