    @thepoliticalcat Anyone going on about sexual issues (which books is about) - I assume that they have something dodgy hidden.

    It is scary how often something comes out eventually. So that assumption seems reasonable.

    I know Leo Varadkar was not super popular with his nation. But, as someone in the UK who has witnessed a succession of shit leaders, fucking hell it’s refreshing to hear a political leader say, effectively, “I’m not doing a good job, so I’m resigning”. I weirdly think history will be kind to him.

    @bloor I think you are right. It is oddly radical to see a leader not only admitting that they are not the best person for the job, but then actually making way for someone who might be better.

    As opposed to in the UK where fundamentally unsuited people have to be forced out to be replaced by someone no better and sometimes worse.

    Listening to a talk about Assange where they said "We cannot allow the government to define who is a journalist". Very true.

    They seem to think the BBC Political team are journalists. And the employees of the Sun, Mail etc.

    If the government likes someone, they are probably not a journalist. They are probably a spokesperson.

    We need more journalists.

    Anyone who has tckets for the Uriah Heap, Saxon, Judas Priet tour:

    You are in for an absolute treat. All three acts totally class, completely giving it all still. 3 superb, headline-quality sets in one.

    Personal favourite was Saxon, but it is simply a matter of my musical taste. In terms of preformance - nothing to choose.
