Well, RIP games journalism. Good luck finding an objective review. It was difficult before, now it'll be near impossible.
Recently, I've been watching small Youtubers video's for reviews. It's hardly reliable, though. It's important to stay small because I'm beginning to think the larger ones aren't exactly being objective either.
I've not seen a single post on Mastodon about this. Nobody cares, and nobody realizes how potentially damaging this could be.
Robin told Batman he was thinking about pre-ordering a game. After slapping Robin across his stupid mouth, Batman explained that he should wait to see if the game is in a tested and working state before he buys it, otherwise the publishers have no reason not to release a broken game since they've already been paid.
@WanderingInDigitalWorlds I was just making a joke. I had tried sweeteners, but that didn't work. At the moment I'm just using sugar substitutes, for example, I've been using honey in my tea and coffee.
@Strider Sometimes that doesn't come through with written text; honey is pretty good for tea and coffee! I like orange flower honey as the hint of citrus flavor gives those hot beverages a zing. However, I also use turbanado sugar too. I find that I need less of it than refined white sugar overall to sweeten my coffee or tea!
@Strider Ugh, Amazon must be stopped at all costs...They've huffed enough chemicals to become deranged, unregulated POS! I really hope more people drop their Prime Subsciption in a form of protest.
@Strider Marvel and DC are the worst offenders of Multiverse abuse! They couldn't seem to settle on a continuity and that seriously messed with the quality of their stories.
You know that episode on Star Trek: TNG when Data & Geordie ask the ship computer to create a unique mystery for Data to solve as Sherlock Holmes?
Well this game aims to replicate that, in a manner of speaking.
It's not Sherlock Holmes. It's set in a fictional New York and all the people in it live their own lives, and every mystery is randomly generated, making each one a new challenge to solve. I've not played it, but it looks great.
#Steam are refunding Helldivers 2 even though it's #Sony that are being morons.
I know Steam are not without criticism, but can you tell me of one other modern company that would do this for many thousands of its customers?
I'm the first to attack companies for bad practice but I also hand out deserved praise when companies act properly and #Valve deserve a lot of credit for how they've handled this.
I only wish there was some other way to reward them as I'm already a regular customer.
@Strider I’m glad Steam is being awesome and refunding those who bought Helldivers 2 in a places with no PSN access. This is a freaking bad situation, that Sony is often fond of creating with their arrogant cunty behavior!
They almost did this with Minecraft multiplayer but the pushback was too great for them to bear.
@Strider This is something that doesn't surprise me, as orangutans are smart in their own right! However, it's sad that most of their complex behaviors still remain undocumented.
@Strider I replied with that in mind, as not everyone is able to respond freely due to the regional social contract. I’m less bound by the social contract when it comes to nationalists. I want to poke holes in their ideas!
@Strider The promise for TWR is certainly there as it's giving Daggerfall and even a bit of Morrowind in one go!
The two former leads on games which were iconic working on TWR makes me think they will be successful. It just feels like the scale is a bit too much for a small team. The modern gaming scene has pretty much killed my joy for games outside of breakout hits which weren't dogshite! Mostly indie, crowd funded, or well produced Corpo games excite me.
@Strider I might go back and read some blog posts just to catch up later...I've been avoiding YouTube whenever possible. Evil overlords (Google) poisoned my enthusiasm for it! James Stephanie Sterling is likely the only reason I even visit the site these days. Or an anime OP which isn't hosted anywhere else.
@Strider Really makes you question how places like The Onion stay in business. I guess they're closer to fortune tellers than comedians at this point, aren't they?
@LadyMarth01 Yeah. They really set a gold standard and I'd really struggle to think of a better FPS experience. I've always loved their minimalist story experience, where you have to go looking for the story. It's a simple idea but it's so clever.
