@christianselig The changes are only good, from my POV. I’ll take a slight increase in size for IBIS. That’s huge! The button updates more closely reflect what I’ve got on my X-T5, so there’s some muscle memory there.

It’s a compelling device, but I know if I get one the X-E5 will certainly drop within a year. Decisions…

👻 Question for Ghost people, if I may. Is there a theme that has full posts on the homepage by default? I’m aware you can code your own homepage, but wondering if there’s a theme with this feature.

Feels like I’ve seen dozens of themes by now, and not a single one supports this.

@maique There weren’t when I looked a few years back.

As you alluded to, Handlebars is easy enough to pick up and change for yourself on any theme you find otherwise suitable. Swapping excerpts for full text wouldn’t take more than a few line changes.

@christianselig this year I somehow walked myself from wanting an X100V up to an XT5. I’m very happy with that camera, but I still want something pocketable. If Fuji doesn’t update the X100V this year, I’ll probably pick up a Ricoh GR III.

You know, there are enough technology writers to follow that don’t write pithy and callous dunks on innocent folks and children being blown to pieces or buried in their homes.

The article quoted isn’t “about phone and internet service” and John knows that. My disgust is not a matter of conflicting opinions on the Hamas/Isreal conflict. This post is ghoulish and I’ve happily bailed on his feeds.

What happens if iCloud Drive stops syncing? The secret solution? Sticking with Apple Support, which ultimately got enough information to engineering to fix it! Dang.

I don’t have much to say about Pebble yet, but I like that they are considering the value of “short” handles so early on.

Handles shorter than 4 characters are not allowed (sorry Joe, Ike, Amy, and Eve). Handles shorter than 8 characters are vulnerable to reclamation if unused. In this case, a backup handle is reserved.

I noticed too that a number of common given names have been reserved as well. Here’s one waiting patiently for @chrismessina (IG:Chris).

This isn’t typically the kind of feature you find on a brand new social network. Kudos given where kudos are due.

@mpirnat as Liz mentioned last night, that last gig at the Grog was incredibly hot. Everyone left drenched. Uncomfortable, but very memorable.

With the size of the crowd this tour, I would be shocked if they don’t upgrade to the Agora next time.

Threads gaining 30 million users in 24 hours is a perfect example of the unfair, anticompetitive, monopolistic advantage Meta has by owning the social graph.

We should demand laws that make us the owners of our social graphs and mandate that social media companies enable social graph import and export.

@fraying I think the platform was just too early. There’s been a more recent movement towards smaller communities and walled gardens seen through IG’s Close Friends, Discord, Slack, etc.

Google+ had the best of both worlds, scale and control. A lot of those ideas eventually made their way to other platforms (with a pit stop in Vero), but not so neatly packaged as the circles idea.

Google also wasn’t really “cool.”

Indie devs who are running a TestFlight/beta program: are you getting much in the way of feedback? Any suggestions on how to get testers to speak their mind?

Retcon's beta now has more than a few users, but very, very few have said anything, mostly defeating the purpose ☹️

@Cykelero you have some users, but are they using it? Any metrics on whether they’ve just installed it or actively played with it? Analytics might help when written feedback fails to come in.

For Retcon specifically, there might be a higher barrier to proper testing. I would hesitate to try this with my own projects. Git = safety in my mind. Editing that history sounds scary.

Have you provided any sample projects to give users a sandbox to play in?

Still bummed that Deliveries got discontinued. The FedEx app is truly awful. UPS is less worse but still pretty janky.

@paul started with Parcel many years ago, switched to Deliveries for its improved integrations, after the UPS and FedEx integrations started deteriorating, I’ve been testing Parcel again.

My mental model for this activity has changed drastically since I first left it, but Parcel isn’t terrible…

Still holding out hope someone makes an offer to continue supporting Deliveries.

@dancounsell I’m using Private Internet Access, which outscores Mullvad in most metrics except speed (obv important depending on your use case). It is cheaper as well.
