So I'm pretty sure I'm having a reaction to the metal in my belly button ring specifically, the gem... hoping to see someone at a shop soon. I'm just so tired of this thing struggling, the internal healing seems to be going fine, but I guess it's the nickel? that's causing my outer skin problems.

You know sometimes I think about how even starting from early school years you're expected to show up regardless of how you're feeling-- physically, emotionally or mentally and how we're adults now that have chronic stress and illness because we literally suck at relaxing or taking it easy.

I'm a sickly adult struggling to learn how to care for myself properly because I've been conditioned since childhood to just "show up" and push through anyway.

What a fucking concept.

My falls on Sunday this year, so my best friend is coming over today to spend some time with me and male bestie 🥳 Gunna play some Mario Kart, go grab a late lunch, and then off to the city to the tattoo parlor for my piercing!

Her husband and my godbaby made TT some homemade chocolate chip cupcakes 🧁 and I get some fresh veggies from the garden-- I'm excited!

    @idoubtit And for the people who felt that way, we had a conversation about it. It really wasn't that deep, if anything more a laughing/talking point.
    But most people who aren't into Astro just ignore it and we all converse regardless of whatever that sign says. Black folks are just happy to be amongst each other having a nice time.

    @misc Just had this come up and I still struggle to just welcome people aboard. I let them know it's dry here, can be hostile, wyt people are gunna say some ignorant things thinking they're being "helpful," and all us Black folk are kinda in these disconnected spaces from one another.
