A 16-year-old from Slovakia, a self-acclaimed DevOps engineer, network designer, privacy advocate, NixOS (not using it rn) and #Fedora user, had flaked his entire system, a mid school IT student in Bratislava, where I live.
@tuxedocomputers I'm paying for a laptop/desktop that doesn't even have an option for disabling IME/AMD PSP or doesn't have an option for flashing Coreboot. So it's just a Windows laptop that isn't that much different from others aside from other pre-installed OS than Windows and with customization. I got my Lenovo laptop for 709 euros with a 350€ subsidy from the Slovak government because I bought it from a local electronics e-shop and registered for it. So I think it's not worth the price.
@tuxedocomputers Well, I won't pay for a 1500€ laptop if I can get a big-name laptop with a good track record for supporting Linux with a subsidy on it while having similar build quality and ease of use.

So, I say I use #Wayland all the time, and that X11 is dead, or dying.
And while the second part of that statement is a fact, it doesn’t mean Wayland is ready for everyone right now, so I decided to take a look at the current state of Wayland support, between desktops, apps, drivers, and what the protocol still doesn’t support:
The mainstream "tech" YouTubers and their consequences have been a disaster for my comment section.
Thanks to LTT and co. indiscriminately telling their viewers about how hard drives are "dead" and doing sponsored server builds with 16TB SSD arrays, I now have to endure at least one teenager with a Roblox pfp per week commenting "HDDs are dead lol, nobody should be using spinning rust! downvoted and unsubscribed" under my video.
So far I'm less than pleased with Galaxy NG (as someone who doesn't really use or maintain collections).
I know that role-only folks like me aren't forward-thinking, but roles work(ed), and weren't deprecated, so the mildly-broken changes are annoying. #ansible
I'm going to do a video on it eventually but if you use Bash and want syntax highlighting and auto complete similar t o zsh and fish, check this out --> https://github.com/akinomyoga/ble.sh
A few comments on my latest video seem to paint a very depressing picture of how poorly people understand the political spectrum.
People saying these anti VPN laws are why the left shouldn’t be allowed to govern:
Sorry to tell you this, these laws are being passed by our current French government, which is absolutely right wing (some would say center right, but let’s be honest, they’re passing laws our far right has been dreaming of for decades).
