So, what's the thing, what's the big thing no one can help you with? How do you cope with it?

TimMason,
@TimMason@mastodon.online avatar

@RickiTarr

Memory.A French philosopher, deep in his cups, once said that there are two ways of remembering. Some people remember all the good bits. Some people remember all the bad bits. I don't have to let my mind roll free for long before all my embarrassments crowd their way in.
I cope by reading books, preferable as unrealistic as possible to avoid any collisions with reality.

Have a nice day.

@RickiTarr For some of us, reading is as much an addiction as any drug.

I'm not saying anyone should do this, but if you were looking to get revenge on a colonizer, this would be a really good time to take over Britain.

@RickiTarr "Throw off the Norman yoke" is a slogan worth reviving

Learning French it really throws me that you can say "grace a Internet" instead of grace a l'Internet." As if Internet is some guy you know.

TimMason,
@TimMason@mastodon.online avatar

@ZachWeinersmith Where did you get that from? Everyone I know would say ‘grâce à l’internet’, and ‘grâce à internet’ sounds weird and wrong. (‘Les internets’ or ‘aux internets’ is a joke reference to George Bush)

If you ever want the roguelike experience in real life just marry someone who never puts things back where they got them from

@AbandonedAmerica This even more fun when one partner is convinced that the only way to organise things is this way, while the other partner knows in their heart of hearts that things should be organised *that * way.

@MrLovenstein These, but particularly the last, are all conclusive arguments against the idea of Artificial Intelligence. No machine has ever experienced, let alone dealt with, the reality of walking in wet socks.
